Thanks VR6.....will do it once this rain stops.I'm sure i can deal with the pipe on my own... <_< One thing id still like answered though..is how do you get that metal shroud off at the back?..As i really think i should check all the pipes behind it.

Dont tie it to anything! just put round the pipe so it cant stretch/expand to much and then it forces it to have a tighter fit! as i would literally be putting the tie on the pipe itself and nothing else..should i still nip the end of it? hmm...as it is such a confined space to work in..how can i be sure that i wont make it too tight? Also..do not know ir this is relevant..but all the rubber pipes/hoses seem to have a whilte paint mark on them..does this mean that they are all for one particular purpose?..

well i personally think there is a slight difference between helmets and veils!..are helmets a religion or a belief? I do hear what you are saying though, just like a cross is a symbol of religion and belief, as is the sign of the fish that you see on cars..(symbol of christianity.) How would we feel if we were told that no one was allowed to wear crosses anymore..or had to take the symbol of the fish off their cars or windows?..would there not be an outcry?.. i think we should all respect each othres beliefs and faiths. I dont see how a woman wearing a veil can be unfair on us...

Yes some of you have more than one identity and we mods do know who they are and what all their identities are.. It is entirely up to yourselves how many identities you have on here..but i for one only have one..thats me..dont think the forum could cope if i had another identity! :D :D

I tried to describe as best as i could in my limited knowledge what was going on....my problem is, is that i don't know what all the parts are called or what exactly they all are for or do..And yes my descriptions leave something to be desired....the revs were high in comparison to the speed i was doing.....Could it have been because that little pipe was about to pop off?I don't know. But..touch wood..she seems ok..turbo lag is back which im glad about..i was tentative at driving her to begin with as i guess i was just waiting for it to go poof...but the pull is back..and she flies like a dream.. So a big thank you to everyone....All the advice was very much appreciated, When i saw my dad this eve and explained it all to him..he said that it was all the symptoms of a slipping clutch..when i showed him what it was..he still couldnt believe it..but he has advised me to just keep an eye and an ear on the clutch as he thinks it could have been two seperate problems and i have only resolved the one.So.....you never know..i could have a slipping clutch aswell..time will tell i guess.But for now..im happy..and once santa has robbed me blind and after i have robbed a bank..i will see to getting the clutch looked at just in case.. I also got a slap off me dad for riding the clutch..as he said..i should know better with having a dad as a mechanic!.(he was one for 30 yrs in the RAF but doesnt touch modern day cars..includeing mine!)

You lot can edit your posts, but as VR6 has said, only the mods and Glen can delete topics. Even if a mamber is banned, or leaves, his/her topics, posts will stay. Attachments are different though, IIRC, any attachments i have done, i can delete through my control panel..i believe that is the same for all..if you have an image hosted by photobucket and delete that account..then i believe that the image will be withdrawn also. So..Bigj is removing his posts by editing them..that is his choice. All this is over his starting a new thread for each one of his jokes. Yes sometimes it is a bit tedious when you log in and all you see are jokes...and yes maybe it is a good idea just to have one or two threads of jokes active .. But to delete them all...i don't think that is the way to go. Didnt the forum before the upgrade just have one thread that peeps kept adding to?..maybe im wrong in that thinking.. maz, xx

Right..everything back on the car now..turned it over for a min...the noise i can hear is coming from the alyternator area..not sure if its just the belts going round. Will be giving it a run later to see how she goes and if she can still fly.. :angry: Now..last job....is to scrub my hands!..as whilst i was there i cleaned the scuttle drain out..so much rotten crap in there... ;) Will have to clean the keyboard now aswell.. :D Will let you all know how i get on later.. Thanks everyone. Maz. xx 1 more thing....i need to secure that pipe to stop it coming loose again...vr6 thought ties and i disagreed..but having a look i think it will work..just not sure where to tie it to as i dont want to hinder the pump action from the other end of the valve thingy.

I think..i know this sounds daft..but im used to the noise it makes with everything replaced., so i will be able to tell if the noise is the same..or different once i have the covers etc back on. will be doing that in a bit so will let you know. Thanks peeps..Hopefully touch wood fingers crossed it is fixed...but i will have to secure that pipe.

As per VR6s suggestion i just ran the car with the pipe fitted to where i think it goes....at the moment touch wood fingers crossed..it pulls.i can hit 50/60mph at the correct revs..Its noisy as hell..but i did have all the covers off.I only did a short run..will do a longer run this eve to see if that was the problem.

right..am going to see if there is anywhere else it can go.

can i add..that in the top pic of the last pics i posted..you can see the other end of the part i think the pipe should go in....that end moves...i moved it by hand..if you press one side of it down..the other side of it moves up slightly...dont know if this helps.

where in correlation to all the stuff under the bonnet is that bit?is it the other end of the component to where i thought it should go?Im sorry but i dont understand the pic....photos yes..but,,call me thick.but i cant picture that pic in engine bay.. Will go have a look tho
