  1. Unless my eyes are decieving me..i cant see anywhere where it says they are reinforced/xtra load.Might be worth sending the seller a message...
  2. I got mine off ebay..includeing the bezels..but they are cheaper from Ford.
  3. T is the speed rating....it should say reinforced or Xtra load.
  4. Ok.here is a couple of pics. Door completely stripped .You have to detach the door card, take off the weather strip from all around the door where the window goes. This is what it still looks like now. and here are the broken drill bits and the 2 round things that the cables go round..the rivets are also in the pic. Door with the plank of wood in it holding the window up.I had to knock the plank out with a hammer from the side, as the metal ledge that it had been resting on had dug into the wood and also bent the ledge a bit.The window had also dug into the wood at the top. Thanks Nik for uploading them for me.
  5. an array!! :o :o ..blimey.. well done though.
  6. Thanks Mike,Fixing a regulator that is totally dismantled is a pain in the rear.plus, ive got the stuff to fit the round thing to the regulator...but i cant make the caseing go thru the hole that the screw fits into.its the right size..but a bloody tight fit and i dont want to break the reg.Ah well....if i can get it reassembled, then i only have to refit it..then put the door back together.gawd.why do i do these things.
  7. Ok..im stumped now.Im going to take the reg to a garage in the morning.see if they can reassemble and fit that white round thingy to it.
  8. Dont have anything big enough to fit.so off out to find somewhere open where i can.
  9. LOVE IT!!..second one out..you know those big pointy drill bits that look like arrows?..will i hammered in the sides of the rivets with that then hammerde them out with a hole punch...i will post some pics after ive finished. um....what can i use in place of a rivet?nut and bolt?
  10. YYEEEHHHAAWWW!!..GOT ONE OUT!! gave up on the foirst one..so adjusted myself and started on the second one in the new regulator..out in 10 mins!!.. Now..for the first one... I shall do as you say wolfie..as i did bodge this one up a bit..getting a drill bit out of the floor when you punch through the rivet...ahh well. Thanks for the advice wolfie.
  11. ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!..3 Drill bits broken..last one wen it broke skated across my knee..( sat drilling the rivet between my knees) I now have an off centre hole in one rivet..and when i drill the whole bloody thing whizzes round..how the flip am i supposed to get it out when it goes round and round??.
  12. yes you can mix speed ratings. I would change the fronts.must have reinforced or extra load, or in the case of an accident it may invalidate your insurance. 93?..IIRC that is too low. (I await to be corrected.lol)
  13. Glad you got it sorted in the end..and the moral of the story is??,,unplug your dvd player.lol.
  14. I would suggest disconnecting the battery...but you wont be able to open the bonnet...i really dont know.sorry.
  15. Heat shield not in place??
  16. found this info.. Drilling Out Rivets First, mark the centre of the rivet with either a #40 drill bit, or even a push-punch. Next, drill the head with a #30 bit, and snap it off with a 1/8
  17. WElcome and congrats on the new Gal, she looks good!.Sounds like you def like your cars
  18. I have swapped motors over..so the new motor is on the old reg...but i need to change a round thing that the wire goes round.these are rivetted on.the one on the old reg is broken..and i need to swap it for one off the new one...i dont have a small enough bit for my drill to drill through it. anyone?
  19. is there anyone say within an hour or so travelling distance from me that can help?..i can travell if needs be tomorrow?
  20. most def too big..the old ones, the two sides are around 18 inches long..and the new ones are around 23 inches long...those are the sides that bolt to the door frame.. the one i got from whitty, he got for his 52 plate from the dealer..as he never opened it..there is the possibility he may have been given the wrong one?who knows.. Mine is a 2001 X reg early MKII..
  21. Okk.....i know why it wont fit..its too big..the sides are a good few inches longer than the old one.And the holes for fixing are in a diff place.Ah well.. anyway..my question is..since i know if i get a working regulator into the door it will work..and the rear right one i know wont work because of a broken wire..can i put the rear right into the rear left?.Hmm... or could i cannobilise one regulator to make one working one from the one i got?Hmm.. bugger.
  22. got a bit of a problem..cant get all the holes to line up....
  23. Hmm..could be.....i dont know to be honest as i really dont know about that end of the engine.. i would check all connections..are the battery terminals clean and free of crap?are the thingies on tight enough?..
  24. right..just went to a garage who gave me 5 bolts and some washers free.lol...no idea what size they are..but they fit...I know the rugulator works as i plugged it in to make the clamps go to the bottom which they will need to be when i put the window back in. Right...time to put it all together hopefully without breaking anything!. thanks for the info peeps.
  25. also..2 miles is not far enough to charge the battery..IIRC.. all this is just my opinion.I would get the battery and the alt checked.
