The linkage is very tricky to get out if its the first time you are doing it..give yourself a few days to do to the job from start to finish.i took 3 days on mine...others have done it quicker but invariably broke something in the process. You will see a long black bit above the engine bay which covers the wiper linkage.

lol..you have to take some parts off to see the linkage..as you wont see it just by opening the bonnet.

Topic moved to technical. I believe it was introduced late 2001....so some Y regs will have the lap belts and some will have the 3 point seat belt that comes down from the roof.Always check if the belts been changed..if they aint sure..then get it done yourself.

Time to learn then hun..... :huh: I really do recommend a basic car maintenance course for all women....all i know i learnt from members on here and the course i did. Only thing i will say..is take your time with the linkage...and dont whack it with a hammer.LOL.

the brake light warning light stays on when you first start the car untill you touch the brakes...right now cant remember why..think its to check the circuit or something like that. As for Aircon.....sounds steep to me....always get quotes from garages before you have any work carried out that may cost a few bob...only thing ive ever gone to Fords for is parts. Make sure you get reinforced/extra load tyres on her..anything else MAY invalidate your insurance in the event of an accident. As for a sign of things to come, any other probs you MAY get will more than likely of been covered, so search is a good engine to use plus we help where we can. The Gal is a damn fine work horse and a lovely car to drive.. Welcome to the club.

Nothing was warped , but the warp drive works perfectly now,no more warp drive leaks.. Sounds daft but i havent figured out where the high beams are so cant beam anyone up yet, Feels ok to be back at the helm of her going places where no man has gone before! :P (well..it is early ... is all i could think of at this ungodly hour in the morning! :D )

Got the Veccy back..it was a part that looks like the starship enterprise that went.Oil leak is fixed, was from the rocker cover..all done now.so touch wood no more probs.

Well...My baby goes on Friday afternoon.The collection agent wanted to pick her up tomorrow morning but i asked if i could have her till Friday and explained why.I can if i wish, attend the auction...not sure if i will.....i think if i had the spends then i would and try and buy her back if i went.Ah well....such is life.depending on where the auction is..i might attend.See what she goes for. Now me being daft, thought that if you were useing cruise control, and you braked,i thought that cruise control disengaged?..am i right in thinking that if you only brake slightly it should reengage, but if you braked..say from 70 to 50..it switches off and doesnt re engage??

Rang the garage yesterday, waiting for a part from Vauxhall.should arrive today.fingers crossed it does!

Just got the Gal insured for a few days till i get the vectra back.....cost 16 quid for a week, but she will be gone by the end of the week.That Rover is a nightmare to drive!..nippy, but cramped with the kids in it.

Ok..this morning..my car looked like this.. At just before 12pm..it looked like this..(you can see the water on the ground where the bloke put water in it and it just poured out from the split pipe all over the road.) then at just gone quarter to one..it looked like this.. And the reason??..a split water pipe..car went to top red in temp..before that it was hovering between 100 and red for about half an hour then it just top lined and i smelt burning.It is now in the garage where i got it from and i have a courtesy car of a Rover 420 N reg! I was on the A42 when it happened.got home just after 4pm...kids not happy as we never made our destination..but they loved being in the back of the recovery vehicle! what a flippin day!
