it could be a halfy halfy car?? check your washer bottle...see if the seals etc are intact around the hoses.

steering wheel may have been replaced..or it depends on how the person held the wheel whilst driving...dont forget steering wheels are used all the time in the car...is it a leather steering wheel? Check the pedals..do they look worn?some peeps when they clock cars..dont think of changing the pedals.look at the clutch and accelerator pedals..the little stub thingymebobs are what get worn..my old Gal was on 73k when she went..and the steering wheel looked ok..(leather)..and so did the peddles. Could be many reasons why the steering wheel is worn...if the service history milaege and the milaege on the car tot up..then it should be ok....steering wheels can be replaced..you can always check with ford to see if they can bring up any work that has been carried out on the car since first reg...i know it can be done as i did it when i had probs with my steering.

Christ..dont mention pigeons!..went into Boston today and i hit one of the buggers on the main road..it hit the passenger side of the windscreen and my eldest was sat there..my god she can scream!...had to stop and clear all the blood and feathers stuck to the screen..youngest two wanted to get out and have a look at the remains! I was also gutted when i was overtaken by a MKI Galaxy!..it just dissapeared into the distance..and what did the kids say??.."you gonna catch it up mum?"..i did eventually..only coz it was stopped at the lights! though gotta say..the Veccy can hit top speeds very quickly.Just doesnt pull off quick enough.

Aye..i know its only a car....but im angry over the way she has gone.I guess i would have felt different if it had of been my choice to let her go..but when its taken out of your hands.... Plus she was the only car i had driven since passing my test and the only car i had worked on. I'm getting used to the Vectra, least the Vectra doesnt jolt anymore when i bring the clutch up and move off now. :) Gotta admit...i dont miss having to crane my neck when turning right! I'll get another Galaxy one day.

Can i just say, that id like to thank those of you who offered me help and supported me on here over the Gal...was very much appreciated.

After waiting all day, my Baby has just been driven away.Bloke who collected her was really nice and appologised for having to take her.Ive got the name of the Auction she is going to...so will find out when she is due to be put up. I am not a happy bunny right now. I did leave the ford galaxy club sticker on her..so who knows..she may reappear on here! He signed the paperwork..then left.so i went round the car with the guy picking her up. Not happy.

I am no expert..but i think if it is double din then it should fit..i cant think of a reason why not. considering the 6006e unit is double din and it fit in mine.. Steve67 is the best to know....or someone who already has it in..Bleeno does..and so do others..

OK..i was right..the ford 6006e is double din..this is what i had in http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-6006E-IN-DASH-C...1QQcmdZViewItem (not mine i might add) soo..if the unit you bought is double din..i think it should fit..i had the 2001 model Ghia Galaxy.and i dont think they would have reduced the gap for the stereo .i could be wrong mind.

I had a ford 6006e head unit in the gal i used to have...i took out the 5000 unit and replaced it..i think the head unit i put in was double din..but i cant remember..will have a search

Hmm..isnt the ford 6006e a double din?if so it fits in the 2001 model...i could be wrong on the din size though.
