Grumble Grumble - Is My Ac Compressor Fubar?
bhbobhill replied to looops's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Obviously the bearing has gone. I should imagine thats quite cheap to do, then replace the idler/ tensioner. Mind you it must have done a fair bit of work and mileage. Play it by ear, price the bearing and idler up first. Have fun. Bob Hill -
Water Pump Change
bhbobhill replied to Gazza 8374's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Had my waterpump changed by our local back street mechanic, he just changed it, no question about engine out job. mine was similar to yours except mine over heated. One of the common faults is the waterpump impeller blades snap off. This can cause major problems. Well worth changing for what it is. Hope this helps. Regards. Bob Hill -
Central Electronic Unit Problem

This sounds like the usual culprit, a broken wire in the drivers door wiring loom. The door loom where it goes from the door to the vehicle body. Have fun Bob Hill -

I have a mk2 galaxy some kind person knocked my drivers side door mirror off. I managed to acquire one from the second hand scrapyard. Its a pain getting it off, it is attached by 3 cables because its a manual adjust but I omitted to note which way the cables went on. The nipples are silver, copper and brass does any body know the order in which they go. Mine is on a 52 plate 1.9 diesel. Any help would be much appreciated

Is there a repair kit for door mirrors? I don't mean the glass I mean the spring mechanism. The cost of renewal is to say the least is expensive.

Front Door Windows

Is there any easy ways of rectifying the problem, or the best way to tackle it. Regards Bob Hill -
I have a 52 plate mk2 1.9 diesel, the door controls, on the drivers side sometimes stop working. If I stop and lock the car they sometimes start working. If I disconnect the battery for a short time they work for a couple of days, then start doing the same thing again. Has anyone else had this problem or is it like I suspect the main brain. Anyone got any ideas that may help, it would be much appreciated. regards Bob Hill

The heater control has become faulty. On turning the control it ceases to operate, for a few weeks to control the fan speed I have had to depress the the control in so obviously the unit is faulty. Qustion is are there any quick fixes and secondly if not how do I attack its removal and replacement. Mk2 1.9 diesel on 52 plate manual. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Bob Hill

It went for its MOT yesterday among its faults was osf sidelight bulb blown. This might sound like a daft question but there aint no room there, do you have to take the headlight unit out to replace a bulb, if so how? Whoever designed this machine must have had good laugh about the troubles us punters will have to face. Any help would be much appreciated. Kind regards Bob Hill Mk 2 Galaxy 2002 1.9 TDI

Possible Power Steering Problem
bhbobhill replied to pauleaton16's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Lets look at the history surrounding this problem. This didn't surface until you had work done, this included fan belt and tensioner. After fitting the problem appears, this should surely tell us something. Regards Bob Hill
