  9. I have a 53 plated Ford Galaxy ghia with a 500 RDS stereo which has a 6 cd changer situated in the boot area.I have just bought a sat nav system for a Ford Galaxy off e-bay and was wondering if i give the specifications would anyone know if i would need to buy any additional wiring loom.As far as I know the only thing i need to do is to run the gps aerial lead underneath the dash ,probably through the glove box area to behing where the console will sit.Hopefully the leads for the existing stereo will plug into the rear of the sat nav unit ???????????? The Sat nav is called a Ford Blaupunkt MFD DX Sat nav which has a cd changer control written on the top right hand side of the unit. I am unable to e-mail the picture for some reason. It basically has a knob on the left with TIM,INFO,ASL,SCAN and numbers 1,2,3 underneath and the knob on the right hand side has NAVI,AUDIO,MUSIC SYMBOL and numbers 4,5,6 and then there is the screen in the middle.I have cut/pasted the following too: ...:FORD MFD satellite navigation ...::Radio unit - RDS/EON VHF (stereo), MW - TP, TA - Speech distortion elimination during traffic news - 6 x 6 memory presets (TP, FM, AM, on the memory levels 1 & 2) - Radio and memory scan - 4 x 20W output power ...::Traffic News - Evaluation of TP and TA - TIM: Traffic news memory with 4 minute recording capacity ...::Navigation unit - Acoustic driving recommendations - Adjustible radio loudspeaker volume control for the output of driving recommendations - Selectable menu language: * German * English * Dutch * Italian * French * Spanish - Selectable road map orientation ...::Items included - FORD MFD DX - Code Card - GPS Antenna - Navigation CD Please can anyone advise me.

  12. Hello Mum of 4 ,long time no speak. It's a 130 bhp tdi ghia .You were right.
  13. Hello, Please can someone advise me on what the average fuel consumtion should be for my Galaxy.I have only just bought it today and done about 70 miles, most of which was on a dual carriageway.I noticed that the average consumption was between 39 and 41 mpg.My average speed at the time was about 70/75 mph and using cruise control too.I thought it would have been better than this,I previoulsy had a 115 bhp version which seemed more economical. Any thoughts ????? Paul.
  14. Thanks for all your replies. I will try a couple of things out and let you know. Regards. :27:
  15. Hello, Does anyone know how to check if a parking sensor is working ? I have an intermittent fault on my gal. When i put her in reverse i get a constant tone and have to switch it off using the switch near the radio. However this is intermittent. It's ok at the moment. Sometimes when i press the switch for the front sensors to work i also get this constant tone. I have taken it to Ford and they plugged it into a machine but could find no fault (surprise, surprise) .They have tried exchanging the module under the front passenger seat but the problem was still there.I have checked all the sensors and they all pulse and make a clicking noise.I have been told that a sensor even if it isn't working properly will make a clicking noise, etc. Is this true ? I had water in the front passenger footwell becuase of the rear washer jet hose coming apart but don't think that the wiring loom running along the side of the door was affected too much.It just got a little wet and i sorted the leak more or less straight away.I don't think the module under the passenger seat got wet ,but all the same a new module fitted didn't make a difference . I would be grateful for any advice/help.I don't think that i have a wiring fault and Ford seem to think that i have a fault with one of the parking sensors, but which one ??????? Help, help ,help............
  16. Thank you all for your replies. I will perservere and try a few other things before i nuke the car !!!!! :D :o :D
  17. Does anyone have any idea what could cause a plasticy type rattle to come from the passenger dashboard area.I have had a Ford mechanic have a look and he reckons the noise is coming from somewhere inside the dash which he states would be a costly job .Is worse when i go on an uneven road or a speed bump. It;s just irritating.I've replaced all the plastic trims and its still there. Has anyone had any similar probs and how was it resolved ?? Does anyone know how to remove the dashboard or am i going over the top here !! Regards, Paul. :D :D :D :D ;)
  18. I bet she does
  19. Mum of 4, Try placing some tape around the srtiker plate barrel which willl make it thicker. Its worth a try and won't cost u anything apart from a little time. Regards, P.

  22. It will be your auxillary heater. that will need checking out. I am having a problem with it smoking and am hoping to have it replaced under my warranty.Maybe your glow plug will need changing, but i do not really know enough to advise you further. There is a thread on this site for auxillary heater problems which may shed further light on the subject. Regards, Paul.
  23. Thanks Blatters.I think i'll see if i can get it done under the warranty. I wouldn't be too confident about doing it myself, just in case !!! Regards, Paul
