Auxiliary Heater Questions
Galaxy23 replied to Yozza's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Changed the brushes today in the run on pump. It now seems to be working as I can hear a buzzing type noise coming from it when the ignition is on. Also the booster heater is working. I cancelled the old fault codes on my vag com and the heater over temp fault code has shown its ugly head once more and I don't know why it is still showing this persistent fault code. Any ideas please?????? -
Auxiliary Heater Questions

Changed the brushes today in the run on pump------ quite a challenge. Anyway it is now working as it makes a buzzing type sound when the ignition is on. Done a check on the vag com after clearing the old fault codes and it Is still showing heater over temperature as a fault. The booster heater came on and appears to be working. Any ideas why I could still be getting this fault code ? Thanks Paul -

Auxiliary Heater Questions

I haven't checked the pump is running as of yet. Car has done 102k and it is an 05 Tdi Ghia . I think it has the D5Z-F. Don't think my vag com can check outputs as its only a basic one .It.s vs450 vgate scanner. I suspect that it is the run on pump as after clearing the codes and going for a drive the 01410 fault code came up- heater over temp. Do you think this is the likely candidate and that the bushes are worn ? Thanks Paul -
Auxiliary Heater Questions
Galaxy23 replied to Yozza's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Just plugged a vag com into the gal. I now have 3 fault codes for the booster heater: 01413 - Dosing/metering pump (V54) static- short circuit to earth 01410- heater over temp 01492- function lock out 06-00 signal too high I have cleared the fault codes again and the heater has fired up. Might be better if I just clear the fault codes every time What can I check ? Do I need a new dosing pump or is it simply a wiring issue that is causing these faults. -

Auxiliary Heater Questions

Does anyone know the part no or where to get one from - a booster heater temp sensor that is fitted in front of the pollen filter. I spoke with Ford and they couldn't find the temp sensor on their system How may temp sensors should the galaxy have ? My gal keeps on bringing up a fault code 01410 heater over temp and then its 01409 flame out. I clear the fault code with a vag com and it starts working again. Might be cheaper just clearing the fault codes each time. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks Paul.. -

Air Conditioning Pipe Replacement
Galaxy23 replied to Galaxy23's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Mine is a mk 2 seat alhambra tdi on a 54 plate so am not sure of the set up with the pipes ??? -
Hello My car has a leaking air con pipe.It is the one that runs underneath the air filter and along behind the engine . My mechanic has had a lot of trouble in trying to remove the pipe as there is very little room to manoeuvre it.He has ended up cutting the pipe into sections in order to remove it,but he hasn;t been able to remove the last bit of pipe due to a tight joint. He has sprayed the joint with penetrating fluid in the hope that it will free the pipe from the joint when he carries on with the job next Sunday. Does anyone know how to re-fit this pipe as there is no room apparently to put it back.Surely the engine doesn't need to come out ???? Please can someone help. Regards Paul  :( :(

Rear Washer Jet/wiper Slow
Galaxy23 replied to Galaxy23's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Many thanks for the reply. My mechanic has sorted it now with some grease on the spindle and a new pipe connecting to the washer jet.  -
Hello My rear washer jet doesn't squirt any water out.I suspect freeze thaw action has disloged a connection in the pipe somewhere. Is there a link on this that shows me how to do the job? I think it's just a case of clipping the hose back together, but i have forgotten where it is located, etc. Also my rear wiper is slow and i suspect that the motor may be on the way out. Any suggestions? Many thanks Paul

Leaking Heater Matrix
Galaxy23 replied to Galaxy23's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thanks for the replies. Are there any pics available showing how to take dash out ? Thanks, Paul  -
Hello My gal has a leaking heater matrix. It has been the case for the last 4 years and I have to top the water in the reservoir every 2 weeks. It has been pressure tested and this was ok but mechanic says that he will need to take all the dash out to get to the heater to replace it. The cost of a heater is

I am looking for an inner drive shaft that fits into the diff. I need the drivers side one that fits my 2003 galaxy ghia tdi Apparently the teeth are worn on mine and there is play in the shaft (wheel can be moved backwards and forwards) .I have phoned several places on e-bay and it seems that they only sell the drive shaft and not the part i need. Does anyone know where i can buy one apart from Frauds Thanks Paul

Thanks. This is probably a stupid question, but where will i find the model no of the heater that I have so i can choose the correct heater plug. Also there is a metallic pipe connected to the heater (situated next to the heater exhaust).Does this need to be removed at all when you drop the heater down and take the heater plug out ? Also what is in the metallic pipe ?

Many thanks. Will have a word with the mechanic I have taken the car to a local Ford garage and the drive shafts are ok,just a small amount of play in each one which is apparently normal. What the mechanic found was that there was play in the subframe to gearbox stabiliser link so when I accelerate sometimes i hear a knock which is proably the engine mounting moving.I have spoken to Fords to get a part and they have quoted me about

Thanks again.Just one further question when you remove the fuel pipe from the aux heater does a load of fuel come out or is this the case only when the engine runs and is it easy to damage anything when dissassembling the aux heater./anything to take extra care with Thanks, Paul
