It works on the Gal as well.....although all it actually does is test that the various displays work. There was a post on here a while back that told you how to do it....can't locate it at the mo.

Sounds like an air leak....although it could be electrical...relay 30 or even brake switch ? Won't be the ECU

I wouldn't put your Northern Rock money ( if you can get it out ) into Alliance & Leicester at the moment...... Pick one of the others.....except Lloyd's as most likely this is where Northern rock is heading anyway.

I think with Branded parts you have to look at the type of part in question. Things like Radiators, water pumps and general mechanical components that you wouldn't really class as consumables are probably not in great demand and are almost certainly only made by one, or at most a few, specialised companies. In this case "genuine" parts is just a way of charging more for the same identical component and a the cheapest available will most likely be the best buy. Parts that you could class as consumables, Tyres, Exhausts, Brake pads etc are in much higher demand and the "inferior copies" are doubtless out there as there is a decent market for them. A typical example of this would be where you have some top branded items of excellent quality that are also sold ( identical items ) under various less well known names at a cut price. Alongside this you will have "budget" types of lower quality and also more worryingly "copies" of a sub-standard (if not dangerous) nature. In this case the cheapest available may not be the best buy...but it could be...you pays your money and take your chance ! If its a safety component, ( wheels, steering, suspension or braking ) then it may be prudent to use a known good make.

I hope Northern Rock goes belly up and they lock up the criminals ( Chief execs ) responsible. They changed their status from a Building Society to a bank purely so they could make more profit and pass all the risk onto their customers. They are nothing but a back street ( ok High St ) money lender. All they do is loan you money at for example 6% and take a loan out for the same amount with a "proper bank" at for example 5%...20% profit for doing f_all and also forcing up the rates we all have to pay for our mortgages. If they got rid of all these scumbag middlemen then we could get our mortgages direct from the "proper banks" at the lower rate.

I think Northern Rock is dying......... I cannot see it recovering from the total lack of customer confidence. Just hope that no-one here has any money invested in Northern Rock shares.....if you have sell them now....be worth tuppence tomorrow.
