Hi guys Once I get the problems solved with my Gal I will be looking to get a "normal" sized radio probably one with USB on it. Might still use the CD Changer. So as long as the stereo is changer compatible will I be able to connect it without anything else needed? Secondly more importantly....... I have seen the fascia's on ebay and the one with the tray on here. I've also heard about a "Ford" one - does anyone have any pictures of the "Ford" one? I noticed the VW/Seat one on ebay - and wondered if this would fit (I guess it's missing the top surround though) but would it fit otherwise? Also just found this one here. Cheers WJUK

It's full climate control. Can the flap motors be fixed / exchanged on their own? Matey said that he put the flap to windscreen and held his finger their expecting the motor to do nothing when he changed the settings but it worked fine and moved around - said the sfotware he had (no idea what it is) didn't allow him to recalibrate or something but another mechanic he knows said that Ford/VW could do this. Just wondering why it won't close the footwell one properly. Anyone have VAG com near Heathrow apart from main dealers? Just got the car back tonight and not in a good mood. Now the air conditioning works the opposite B) If nothing is select then it goes to Demist (Windscreen) If Demist = Works fine If Normal Airvents = slight trickle from edge ones and footwell + demist If Footwell = Slight trickle from normal airvents at edge + demist Now

Hi guys Recently bought a 53 TDI Ghia Galaxy and having some problems with the Air Condiitioning amongst other minor things. Basically to cut a long story short, the Air Con (climate) works fine on the footwell but doesn't blow very hard at all out of the face level vents or onto the windscreen and no matter what setting you put it on it still blows out of the footwell as well. Got a mate of a mate who's a mechanic to have a look at it and he just called me up and said it seemed like a lazy motor. He took the unit out and said he has now got it coming out of the windscreen thing as it should but said it still comes out of the footwell if you put it on the dash vents. I haven't got the car back from him yet so no idea how powerful the air con is now either but he did mention something about him not being able to recalibrate that bit and that VW or Ford could probably do this - I'm thinking ching ching :) Can anyone offer me some advice please - would it be better to get a new climate control unit or can it be hooked up somewhere to diagnose the exact fault? - I live near Heathrow and I've only just bought the car and don't want to spend much more on it already (three kids under 18 months doesn't allow a big budget.....) Cheers mate, I think I read someone else say something about the contacts being stuck. Any idea what the order for pushing the buttons is so I can check? Just to clarify airflow is working through all three modes but just not powerful as it should be on demist and face height and with it blowing out the bottom all the time. Ps - How do you get to the flaps etc - do you need to strip the dash?

No not checked the filter yet. Where is it and I will do that tomorrow. Just don't think it should be blowing out the footwell if I select windscreen or facevalue as well though

Hi guys Wow three problems already :angry2: Notice tonight that the Yellow Bulb Warning came on the dashboard when I started her up. Checked the manual and it says a problem with an exterior bulb. Checked rear lights, fog lights etc fine. Checked full beams, normal lights - fine. Then noticed side lights (parking lights) were not working at all. Was dark in garage so couldn't check the fuses so will try this tomorrow but one weird thing is that if I press the brake pedal the warning light goes out - can anyone shed some light (ahem) on this? Hi WJ A little confused, are you saying its not cold enough or just not enough air ? you say on full speed it was not very powerful, have you checked the pollen filter ? as for the vents, I cannot answer your question, but if you had it on auto I would expect air out of all of them ! Radiotwo Sorry mate. It's reasonably cold just doesn't seem to be enough air on full power coming out when I select either Face Level or Demist (Windscreen) plus even if you select these it still blows out the bottom regardless.

Hi guys Just purchased a 53 plate 1.9 TDI Ghia. Dealer had the Air Conditioning fixed recently as he said it was flashing for 10 seconds and would then go off. Checked it before I bought it and was nice and cool (or hot). However today I put it on face level only full speed and noticed that it wasn't that powerful coming out the vents. I also noticed that even on face level it still blows out the bottom as well on to your feet. Selected feet only and the face level vents stopped as I expected them to. Is this a fault or are the face level vents not that powerful. Anyone give me some tips please as I don't think the warranty will cover this. Thanks WJUK

Not at all true. Heated seats with the cloth trim is quite common and you can have leather without the heating option. I'm looking for a Gal with Leather and Heated Seats. Couple that I have seen don't have heated seats in middle of dash as mentioned. Are the seats capable of being heated? - I ask as I have an Astra Convertible and I know most of them that have Leather have the elements built in and just need the wiring, switches and relays etc all connecting up.
