I cant see the piece I need on that, I take it that came from the TIS disc some of you have talked about if so I got to get me a copy of it , it could be very useful

Can anyone tell me if the ball joint on the wiper linkage on the drivers side is avalible as a seperate part or am I going to have to buy the whole linkage assembly

IIRC you have to set the brake light switch , just don't ask me how as I can't remember. I think you have to push the plunger right back in then pull it out to the desired length. I hink it was covered on the seatcupra.net site. Sorry I can be off more help TAM

Just doing some work to my back brakes to, and was wondering what brake fuild is it use in the Sharan/Galaxy/Alhambras is it just ordinary DOT4? TAM

I have fitted the Audi RS6 wheels in 17" with 215/45/17 91H tyres I did not go with reinforced as my Sharan was not fitted with them as Std(std size was 215/60/15 91H) But what I would say if yours are reinforced I would try to stick with reinforced if availible.

I have just noticed my rear drivers side brake binding on a bit and on inspection found that the dust seal had split to. Allowing all the winters crap to stick the piston uo,I tried cleaning it and winding it back in but it is still sticking . According to VW the seal is not availible seperatly. Well so far I have managed to get the quote down to GBP 460 with the mods :lol: throught Diamond (well wifey is the main driver as I got the van)

The other day I managed to kick up a piece of road debris the rattled down the length of the car :lol: , I stop and went back to see what it was as I first thought it might be from my car. It turned out to be a piece of flattened metal tube. But I did not realise at the time it had caught the side of the fuel tank and had taken a small "nick" from the tank :o . Anyhow for now I have managed to heal up the leak with some chemical metal then put a larger patch over it for added strength :o . For now the repair is holding but my worry is can this be left as a repair or will the MOT man fail it, :o and does anyone know how much a new fuel tank will cost :o and is this only a dealer part, for a TDI Sharan. They look awfully darker than 30% my fronts have a 25% film added and a 50% film added to the rear, which is not that dark, and no where near as dark as some of the boy racers I've seen. But it is the rears that seem to be causing the probs , personally I don't think they (Ins) now what they are doing when it come to this. TAM

What did you tell them about the tinted glass did you say it was <30% :o I am finding that they dont like tints above 30% but they seem to be unclear about 30% of what!!!! TAM

I know what your thinking... why is this in the Customising section ?? well I have just got my renewal in and it has gone up quite alot renewal is coming in at GBP 881.00 "because of my mod's" ( which are only wheels and window tints.) So I have been phoning around and I seem to be getting the cold sholder from the main insurance companies. So to any of you guy with modded Sharan's Galaxys & Alhambras, can you recomend a good insurance company. cheers TAM

Yeah, still not got around to installing the Eibach springs yet :o Although I have chaged the side repeaters to clear LED ones and the windows are tinted now. 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Just need to get a loan of a set of spring compressers and a free weekend to get her lower :D :D

Noticed tonight the rear drivers side hand brake seems to be sticking a bit checked the cable it seems to be moving freely and with the wheel jacked up I can turn the wheel its just stiff. Anyone any ideas , is this a common fault? Tam

I am looking to do a service on my Sharan soon, and with all of my previous bikes and cars I was thinking of installing a K&N panel filter. Has anyone done this on a TDI model, and is there anything to some of the stories of failing MAF's due to fitting K&N's?. I have heard that the failures were due to over oiling the filters though! I had the same noise coming from my 2001 polo TDI estate it was taken in several times under warranty had a new turbo new MAF and CV joint but still no change ended up being referred back back to VW Germany they said they now of the problem but there was no fix availible at the time ( sold the polo in 2002)and it was not a problem that would cause damage. I know that on my Sharan Carat it came with only the 6 seats but all the slots are in the floor though. All I had to to was move the second row seat outward towards the doors and removed the armrests, then moved the left hand 3rd row seat forward to the 2nd row middle position.So that I now have a 2-3-1 set up and the dog lives in the space next to the 3rd row single seat. Can any of you guys help I am trying to install a Nokia HF kit to my Sharan , and I am looking for a location to install the "black box". I am wanting to know if there is any space behind the glove box if so how do you get access to there . Also how do you remove dash panel around the stereo and climate control panel. according to my hand book for a mk1 if you turn the key twwice to the right it switches off the alarm but the imobiliser still operates. I know it not exactly what you are looking for but it is the only thing I can find. Tam

The Rims are doing well only kerbed them once :( . and no I am not using a box to get in to the Sharan , still haven't got around to fitting the springs yet :o But the Sharan in going in on Saturday to get the windows "pimped" :P :D hopefully get some updated photos of her. TAM

Can anyne recommend a good replacement speaker for the Mk1 sharan. I would like to keep it looking as stock as possible , but need to improve the sound as the stock one can handle the power(4x50W) from the Sony CD/MP3 player that I've installed. TIA Tam
