Is there anyone out there running 17" wheels with 225/45/17 tyres on their Galaxy/sharan/alhambra, could you tell me what tyre presures you are running. I have resently changed from 215/45/17 87 tyres to 225/45/17 94 reinforced ( after seeing a SE spec Bamra) and they have made quite a difference to the feel of the sharan. Cheers TAM

Thanks for the offer anyhow. Got speaking to a local painter/ bodywork guy & he gave me a bit of panel wipe to try, said that it should remove most of it. Thanks to everyone for all the sugestions. TAM

Any one have any good tips on removing tar spots from paint work. I seem to have quite alot on the door lowers, dispite having mudflaps. I have tried colour restore polish but it only seem to be lifting the very small stuff. Failing that I'll have to book it in for a full valet. Cheers TAM

I was wondering if you guys can help, have been getting an intermitant misfire from my 1998 TDI 110. It mainly happens in 3rd or 4th when putting the boot down ie to overtake, you get may be 1 or 2 "misfires" then seems to be ok. Have taken it to a local garage that specialises in VW Audi's and he hooked it up to the comp. but no fault codes were stored.He sugested trying some redex diesel fuel cleaner in to try that but still doing it. My Sharan had a new MAF fitted just over a year ago, & I have tried running it with MAF unplugged but still missing occasionally. the only other thing I can add there was an incident last week where she lost all power at about 10-20mhp, would not rev but stayed idling. Switched ign off then restarted her carried on fine. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. TAM

I got heated seat that swivel in my Carat model sharan , the wiring runs through a hole between the swivel mech. Think it must be down to he model! TAM

It is a 501 5W capless bulb. Can recommend the Phillips vision blue 501 5w. they give of a brighter white light as apposed to the creamy white colour of the std side light bulbs. I got mine free with and order of phillips vision blue H4 bulbs for Powerbulbs.com but that offer seems to have finished. TAM

So that some unscrupulous bugger doesn't take the detail of you motor and clone it or put you number on their car and you get the speeding tickets, fines congestion charge etc etc. My mates Honda Blackbird has beed driving around London apparently looking like a Skoda Fabia.

just back in from having a quick look the wires look ok. Found the black/red wire check for power by baring back a wee bit of the insulation, and found no power. So I think the next place to look will be down near the rear light cluster. Thank for the advice on the tail lock will try to check all the wires , or if I can get the time just replace all the wires at that point. TAM

At 6 months old I'd take it back to the stealer and let him sort it and make sure I got a loaner car whilst it was in to. TAM

Your Bus looks good, Nice to now that the newer mirrors go on to the older Sharan's, might have to look around the scrappies for a set now. TAM

Yeah thought so had the same problem with an old honda and it's rear screen heater. Just trying to find out what colours the wires for the brake light are, what side of the tail gate they are on, and were the best place to renew the wire from. TAM

Hi, needing a little help. My 3rd brake light has stopped working I have checked the bulbs and they are OK, so I guess I have a broken wire. Unless anyone else has any other ideas. So assuming it it a broken wire what colour of wire and where am I looking for it. Not got around to buying a Haynes B.O.L. yet although did try to get one today from Helfords. TIA TAM

I am using a Garmin Quest with no problems with the heated screen. TAM

Mine is leaking on the liquid return pipe that goes from drier at the front drivers side chassis leg just were the pipe bend to run along the chassis at a bracket also there is a bit of insulation type foam at that point to. Got a price for the pipe

Same car different badge just depends on what badge you want I suppose. TAM

I'd say it is more than likly to be the gear selector cables are worn. Dont know how to check it properly though. Tam

Yep that sounds like it mine has gone at the clamp in the insulation under the chassis leg. Thanks TAM

Wondering if anyone can help , I resently regased my AC as it stopped working and also CC panel was flashing .After regassing it worked fine for a couple of days then the CC panel stared flashing again. So presure tested with some Nitrogen to find that I could hear a small leak. Traced the leak to a small bore pipe coming from the condeser (front driver side under chassis leg ) going round the engine bay in to the bulkhead at the passenger side. I have tries a search but to no real avail, I seem to remember talk about a common pipe that corrodes . Can anyone tell me if this is the same, any part Nos or prices would be great too. If I knew the springs would olny drop the sharan 35-40mm id just fit them ... anyone one out there got the Eibach 35mm springs on, if so what height is you valance ( :unsure: ohh er misses)
