  1. They don't fit because they are either out of a write-off or nicked. Either way they seldom come with the mounting sockets.
  2. Aye, but they don't come with the proper Bosch Aero Twin price tag.
  3. I have fitted a Woodstock 54 in my Alhambra. You don't need the column mount IR remote, you can buy a BP converter for the one already on there. Get a roof mount DAB ariel though. Bought mine from here: http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/woodstock_dab54.asp can not reccomend them highly enough, if you phone them they will make sure you get everything you need, and it is all genuine BP kit even the ISO converters. They know their stuff. As for the touch screen how about building a PC into the car... Here is one someone has done in an Audi, http://trevor.dynip.com/images/audicomputer.jpg Has all manner of software on there, including DVD, DIVX, MP3, TV tuner card, and yes, even VAG-COM built in!
  4. What age and engine are we talking about?
  5. I use white spirit to lubricate drill bits when drilling metal or tile. It is an excellent lubricant for that, and it cleans paint brushes really well. But you won't get anything to stick afterwards unless you clean it all off with meths. I can well belive it caused your strips to fall off! The product you want to stick them on with is SIKAFLEX
  6. And I would advise not to just tighten an old belt to stop the squealing. As the belt gets older it goes harder and that causes the slipping. If you simply tighten the old belt you will stress the bearings on the pump etc, and that will cause premature failure. And that will cost you much much more to fix than the price of a new Vee belt.
  7. www.tyres-online.com EDIT: Just noticed they are now part of Black Circles.
  8. There are many, many legitimate uses for this software. Not all radios with no code are stolen. I have bought more than one car with an aftermarket radio with no code. No OVM is going to help with that at any price. The guy I got the program from gets radios from scrap cars he takes to the yard. Thats why Jason wanted it. (Thats spooky the recovery guy I got it from is called Jason!) Before getting my Bammer (which came with an aftermarket radio and no code) I was, and still am, a Vauxhall enthusiast. Many of the radios in older Vauxhalls you can't get codes for, they are deleted. If you can it costs
  9. The way to test your servo is to pump the brakes with the engine off until the pedal goes stiff. It should go stiff with a few pumps, not straight away (stop tittering at the back!) Hold the pedal down and start the engine. The pedal should drop slightly but not excessively. The hissing you hear is the vacuum in the servo drawing air in when you press the pedal, thats how it works.
  10. That must be a different version then.

  12. Only until you sold the car, because then the prosecution would then argue that in falsifying the book you were making the vehicle's re-sale value higher, something that you would personally benefit financially from. And that is fraud.
  13. Most Vauxhalls have this arrangement and I have never ever had a problem with any of mine freezing, even in the coldest weather. Perhaps water had got into your cable somehow?
  14. Thing is with the Vectra though is it has shoes for the handbrake so it may not be the disc coolong that is causing this issue with them.
  15. I did, but not on something as big as a Shalxay. The process is straight forwards with only a few things needed. Scissors, some tape, some stanley knife blades, a mister bottle and a sponge. But you need either a very calm day or some where indoors, and some disposable coveralls with a hood to wear, as if a hair gets behind the film it will drive you nuts.
  16. Aye, and watch you missus squirm when you turn up the bass!
  17. I have a "link" to one that will calculate codes for Blaupunkt, Ford A/L/C/M, Becker, Hyundi, Volvo 705/905, Clarion and Daewoo. Anyone intersested should PM me.

  19. Already said, but KEYS. Each additional key is going to set you back
  20. With diesels it is not to bad, fairly accurate as the consumption does not swing wildly. Of limited use on a performance petrol engine, regardless of make or model though.
  21. The TIS is copyright software and manual for all Fords on a DVD.
  22. Chain according to TIS
  23. Well presuming your lights are working fine and not dim then I am stuck. Bad earth on the lights was going to be my suggestion.
  24. Stowing the rear seat-belt clips when detached from the floor.
