Secondary Water Pump
Floydey replied to chromedome's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Many thanks again for the tip with the cocktail sticks. I managed it today. Had to shave a tad off the length of the brushes though. On the downside I ended having to replace the brake vacuum pipe as I managed to split it when wrestling with the pump. What a pig to fit! -

Dual Zone Climatronic. Can't Turn Of Heater Fan!
Floydey replied to Torq's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Does your climate control have a de-mister boost switch which puts the fan on boost directed onto the windscreen and turns on the windscreen heated element? it may be stuck in. On the Galaxy there can be a tendency for liquid to spill from cups held in the cup holder on to the buttons. -
Hi, it's possible that one of the parking sensors is faulty. The easiest way to tell which one it is is to use VagCom. This should identify the culprit.

A/c Problem - Display Flashing

Any A\C engineer worth their salt would do a quick pressure test before they re-gas a system which will at least tell you if there are any leaks. -
A/c Problem - Display Flashing
Floydey replied to calvinsnetwork's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The display flashing signifies a fault with the A/C system. VagCom will help diagnose the problem. More than likely the system needs regassing, but there may be other related problems. Try contacting a mobile A/C repair agent who might be able to diagnose the problem for you. The buttons on the controller can become stuck/sticky from drinks held in the cup holders, but £700 to "unstick" them seems a bit steep! -
I think it's only available on the Ghia versions

I think the loom might be around

Looking into the engine bay the multiplug is on the right had side of the rocker casing near the front
-
The wiring loom to the injectors sometimes suffers from poor contacts resulting in a misfire to one cylinder. This is located inside the rocker cover. It is connected to the cylinder head with a multipin plug. One turn will disconnect this. It may be simply this plug. Otherwise you will have to take off the rocker cover to gain access to the loom and it's connections to the injectors. Good luck.

Some kind and considerate person tried to open my Galaxy up yesterday with a rather large screwdriver. Consequently they broke the cylinder/barrel which now spins round in the handle. My question is - can the cylinder/barrel be replaced/fitted separately from the handle? and would Ford be able to provide a matching lock to my key? I don't really want to have to carry an extra on just for the drivers door. Thank you in anticipation Andy

Running Rough / Misfire
Floydey replied to taxidave's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Dave I had exactly the same problem. Removing and refitting the injector loom solved it. A bit of a pig to do, but worth the effort. -
