90% linkage prob.. but would move at lease a couple of times when switched on..unless it is fully siezed nothing to loose but strip it out ..its not that bad really..couple of hours out and in ..if it all comes apart easy !!

Not being funny if i was you get rid of it!!! look at most posts on all gal forums..its mostly autos and diesels i have a manuel and petrol..still some probs but mostly cheap fixes..

I live on isle of wight sea all around got a 18 year old mk 3 fiesta and 2001 galaxy had a 1997 citroen xantia for 7 years bar a little rust on fiesta no problems !!! maybe just a bad motor you have..wont get any joy from garage classed an old banger now...

Starter motor very easy to change lower engine cover 10mm bolts and nuts just 2 bolts hold it on if i remember and connectors to motor..ive got ramps so its easy.price seems right for it..

yeap relay 30..mine done that but was intermitant..seems ok now only took an hour if that to get to and sort out i just took relay apart and soldered all joints again easy job..or buy one not much..superb pics and explanation on this site in faks and questions..good luck..

i though mine out knocked up a long bolt arrangement..works great, rubbish design..

Hi would you say 133,000 on original clutch is getting to the end of its life? No slipping and plenty of bite or judder.Im off on hoilday later in year france into italy so mountains involved!!2001 2.3..

dont take to garage will cost loads and rip you off try and find problem and sort it out with wire and a bit solder...

Hi happend again no warning... no difference to hot, cold,car starts runs performs as should turned into my drive lost steering nearly hit the fence engine seemed to cut out reavs dropped off still in gear engine seemed to catch and run, no problem again reversed into drive used again later???? very strange and very dangerous!Any one had a similar experience or an idear to what may cause it???No codes come up from vag!! :rolleyes:

qute easy to change.but have you looked at the fuse box next to battery?? loads of probs from there crimp ends burn out, need new ones and a fuse box ive had to change mine i would check if its that ..

Right here we go again misses on 2 occasions has got into car, kids messing about with doors,not shut ie... ignition on, no start !! key out put back in start and runs as normal.Any idears before i look at relay 30?? i started it 5 mins before no probs.!! also no probs before driver door open start car to warm up ??Any advise would be nice...

ive a 2.3 mk2 themostat/housing is bolted to right side of engine on the head just under plug leads..made of plastic and crack with age.

been under mine recently changed front pipe might have to change said boxs,s too, could not see a problem at all ...

im doing the same 133,000 mile on clock but concerned about clutch, pretty sure its original works fantastic, light clutch pedle ect no slip but going 6 up luggage and mountains!! not sure if to replace clutch.. alot of money or what...dont want to ruin trip though l

hi not locking but my rear parking sensors stopped guess what?? broken wires under bumper just managed to solder on some new lengths ,must say they used some crap products /wire on these cars.

Had a prob with mine threw it in the bin always foul up wasnt paying for a new one made up a long bolt and flatbar ends works a treat...
