red diesel has two differences to white diesel the easy one to spot is the colour second is a chemical trace in it customs dont look for colour its the trace they go for you can remove the red in a graphite filter but if you asked around diesel drivers how many have been checked i think it will be very small unless your a farmer or work on a building site red costs from 60-80 p / L i believ it can only be sold in 20L containers not sure i would risk it long term as trace stays in tank for a while but tempted to to try occasionaly

A G clamp should do fine as long as its on square and not going to damage anything else you must have the bleed niple open tho to prevent damage good luck

sorry that wont help new key would have to be programmed by 2 existing good keys or dealer/locksmith if you have vag-com it would show faut "engine start blocked by imobiliser" if it does then perhaps its an imobiliser fault cant see both keys failing at same time (you have two keys and tryed both ?) when key in and turned on does door led flash rapidly ?

i had the cutting out under load and acceleration was all fixed by courtesy of Mr Ford and a new turbo although after reading this forum a cheaper option would have been cleaning the VNT and changing the N75 valve if its out of warranty i think you have far more chance of a garage diagnosing the right fault and not the cheapest to keep you quiet have fun
