Shame there wasn't the option to enter a security code @ the end of each post or reply to validate the user's integrity, that way spam bots would be blocked and the poor admin's time would be saved. My own website has the same problems with bots & I ended up blocking group IP ranges, in other words anyone from a certain country, sounds harsh but not many people from Russia needed to post on my site . Keep up the good work lads.

Wouldn't have thought that 2 leads would have failed at the same time ?, would this maybe point to the electronic ignition unit ?. Not had much to do with these for many years but they used to have an amplifier unit & an air gap which used to be in the distributon cap ?. Sorry cannot be much help but maybe worth checking in there, I always find it's never the obvious thing like leads or plugs.....:(. Happy Christmas to you all Simon

Windscreen Replacement
Mauser replied to pompadour's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I would never use RAC they just fitted a new screen in my transit...first time it rained it poured in when I rang to complain they basically said tough luck our fitter mentioned you had some rust around the screen and hence your warranty is now void !!!. The guy never said if i fit this screen you won't have any come back, and only after some heavy complaints to their head office did they agree to remove the screen whilst I got the rust removed then they would re-fit it. Terrible customer service from a large company, thank goodness my Galaxy screen is OK. -
Used a sash clamp the type which lock as you tighten them :D, they work great as the head can swivel so as I tightened it it rotated and moved back. i just slackened the bleed screw and as i pushed it back it sent the fluid down a pipe to jar. All back on now needed to slacken handbrake which needs adjusting back up tomorrow. Got pads from Motormania for

Climate Control
Mauser replied to Ogben Schmutzel's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Since I spotted this topic I have switched mine to Auto, first time in 2 years and so far it seems good, just seems strange having fans going on and off on their own . Guess I'm old school and having fans running all the time would make them wear out faster :D. Time will tell Simon -
It does annoy me when they use all these type of bolts, why bother when they could easily use just allen key which everyone knows and has access to. If you do get them out replace them with some decent Unbrako Alley Key bolts. Simon

Would it be worth removing plugs and tipping some light oil in there, then pushing ?, don't suppose th engine can be turned backwards rather than forwards ?. Good luck anyway and keep us posted. Simon

Front Wipers Creeping Up The Screen
Mauser replied to Darchy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Would suggest your pivots are seizing up, very common problem do a search for wipers and you will find loads of posts on this subject. Just be carefull if you ever try and remove the spine shafts as they can be very tight. Happy hunting Simon -
Hey Matt, when did you pop around and pinch my tartan rug ?....one of the first things I bought when I started driving for some reason. Long time back with my 1.3 Allegro lol. Ooops off-topic sorry. Simon

Well since my first post about wobble the fault has gone, tried a brake from a controlled test circuit 90MPH :), and all seems fine now ?. Maybe my steady driving and light braking has settled the disks to the pads ?, but anyways as long as it don't shake me to bits I'm happy. Cheers Simon

Mauser replied to SUMMERFIELD's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Do a search for this topic, it has been well covered and I am 99% sure your pivot links are seized up. Not to bad a job to do just don't break the casting in the process. Happy Searching -

Be warned, If you lose the power feed to the tail gate you will be unable to open it easily. If you suspect the loom where it fails at the hinge then remove the rear panel untill you have sorted problem, at least you will be able to open the tail gate in the event of the power cable breaking. Check it out ASAP . Regard Simon
