  1. There are loads of posts on this subject along with detailed pictures etc, do a search and you will find them. Basically it takes an hour or so depending on how bad they are seized, take your time and get your gear ready before removing from the car. Best of luck
  2. "Its not a simple case of drain it and refill it" Looking at the TIS CD it is as simple as that, maybe you should read it before posting that it is a complicated procedure; you wouldn't want to put people of the job now would you?. All you need to do is remove belly pan, undo the drain plug allen key and drain, then refill with 3 litres of fluid. Check the level with the overflow plug removed. No special tools needed @ all, unless you want to check the fluid temperature which I don't. Looks like a little job for the weekend, lets hope it fixes the problem.
  3. I only do about 3,000 a year tops; so really only down 12k since buying her, anyway today she stuck in 4th and struggled to pull away from stationary :P. Is changing the fluid difficult ?, I'm no mug by any means but won't bother if you need special equipment etc.
  4. This has only happened twive within the last 3 weeks but today my 2.3 1999 wouldn't go into 4th just sat there in 3rd, I could manually change down and then move back to Drive but she still refused to enter 4th....stopped for 10 mins and she was fine, last time before this she was stuck in 1st or 2nd with same results. Haven't touched transmission since buying her 4 years ago, she has done 120,000. Any ideas please ?.
  5. Ahhh least others wil steer away from the ones I found .
  6. Just spotted these on fleabay...don't need them myself.....yet, but gooid price all the same
  7. Well on my 1999 model the key has no mechanical link to the lock release, hence your stuffed if you loose power, I checked this when I finally got in, don't cut the panel you don't need to I managed it with sore arms instead. When I rang fraud @ the time they advised me only way was to wreck rear panel & get in that way...nice of them I thought lol
  8. If it won't open there is a good chance the tail gate power supply lead is damaged / cut. Mine did the same and without the power feed to the tailgate door handle the lock solonoid won't release. Hard to get in without damaging the rear panel but it can be done, there is a release switch inside the panel. You guessed it you cannot remove the panel without the door being open lol. PS Where was this topic moved to ?.
  9. Hi everyone, my remote has started being troublesome, sometimes works from miles away other times it won't unlock the car even when really close. I have changed the batteries but still the same. Anyone know what could be causing this problem ?.
  10. I think you got wrong end of the stick, the roof bars I am looking @ are genuine VW ones which according to the owner are for a 2001-2005 vehicles including the Galaxy, mine is a 1999 model. Will the VW item which is part no. 7M0 071 126 still fit my older model ?. I only used the other link to show that some rails fit models from 1995-2005. Hope that makes sense, don't want to buy them and find they won't fit.
  11. Hi guys, Could do with quick help if possible, is the roof rails on my 1999 2.3 Ghia the same style as fitted to the later models ?, just about to buy a roof rack of fleabay and the one I am looking at, is for 2001-2005 but looking at the Thrul website they list rails to fit from 1995 to 2005 ?. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...%3D10%26hl%3Den Item runs out within the hour, sorry for late posting . PS You need to select Galaxy from menu .
  12. After much grief and effort its all working, would have been easier if Ford hadn't been so tight with wiring loom cable lengths...... Thanks to those who tried to help .
  13. Well after getting my ISO leads from fleabay I set about trying to wire the CK3000 into my existing wiring, what a nightmare, managed to sort the power leads with little problems, but when I come to connect the CK to the existing 2007R stereo the plugs are different....sob the funny plug on the right is the speaker output from the unit which feeds into the amplifier below via a plug @ the back which is tight up against the dash doh, impossible to unplug whilst its in place I managed to remove the rear scre & the front right but the left front is buried behind the dash which I am not taking out. Out comes the dremel with a cutting disk in & half an hour later the left pin is removed. Now the amp moves forward and I can unplug it....I was hoping it would be a standard speaker output plug matching the leads mentioned above, but sadly its not more pins & closer together. Question is do I bypass the amp ?, does it make much difference without it ? & reading through other posts the CK3000 won't mute properly with amplified systems such as my current setup. I am hoping I can get a bypass lead from a local car audio shop but wont go down the route if the speakers won't work afterwards. Any advice on whats best course to take ?. A. Bypass amplifier with lead and run without it. B. Try and keep current setup and find an adapter to allow conversion from amp to standard speakers. C. Sell the lot on fleabay & give up :o. Cheers Simon
  14. Ahhh I bet one of the connections is for the read CD player ?, anyone know which 1 ?. Simon
  15. Tell you one thing I cannot find and that's a rear view image of the radio 2007R RDS, I have googled it to death and cannot find anything on the net which shows which each plug does, in fact cannot even find a rear image. I can find side view :38:, but not rear. If anyone knows of a link to information on this model please could they post it. My ISO adapter should be here tomorrow and fingers crossed it might convert the weird Ford plugs into something close to the Parrot plugs lol. If all else fails I will give you a shout Steve, I'm a bit of an independant type of guy who doesn't like to bother anyone in real life :31:. Cheers Simon PS its the metal connector on the right looking at the back of the unit which is baffling me + there is no slack on the lead  just wondering if its the remote control inputs ?, you know the one from the steering wheel.
  16. Slap bang in the middle.... Lichfield, I will get the kit tomorrow and see how easy it is to connect up, should be just a case of unplugging the existing connector and using the ISO converter to change the existing car side plug to ISO standard which then connects to the Parrot, then using the other converter to go back from ISO to the radio plug...as long as I have the right lead. The if it was compatible using the mute lead to connect to the speaker connector, as long as thats standard lol. This link shows some good stuff http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Installation_Advic...llation_SOT.htm If I am struggling Steve I will send you a PM. Thanks for the kind offer. Simon
  17. Hmmm I could add a external speaker which should work ?, reading more about this problem some say it works and some just add another speaker. Real shame as would have been ideal for me being self employed, cannot afford to miss a call could be next job . The leads I have brought should enable me to connect the Parrot into the cars audio leads just won't be able to utilise the mute facility . Thanks for the input Simon
  18. Morning all, Well hopefully I have got myself a CK3000 from fleabay, reading & looking around and checking my car I have an amp mounted under the radio lower shelf. So some of the ISO kits are not suitable, I know some have managed to get the mute working without adding an additional external speaker which would be nice ;). Just trying to find a converter from the back of the stereo to the ISO plug on the Parrot unit mine has the verticle plug....apparantly there are 2 types of the 2007R out there, then I will need a converter to go from ISO back to the existing Ford plug. Then once I get the unit I will have to worry about where to mount the control box :(, doesn't appear much slack if any on the radio . If anyone can advise on anything with this install it would be appreciated, photo's or links etc. Thanks Simon
  19. Hi Biscuit, Thanks for the link I did go here originally but it doesn't really make out to me if you need a kit or these are the pin outs for the radio ?. Maybe I am going mad lol, it mentions a kit called AC0000011AA but also shows kits for battery + speakers ?. Puzzled as to what I might need :16:. Simon
  20. Snag is its from fleabay :16:, guy got brand new unit for
  21. Hi guys, Hope all is well, just wondering on my 1999 model with a 2007R CD radio fitted, would anyone know if the connections @ the back are to the ISO standard ?. I want to buy a hands free kit but they come with ISO connectors, if mine are non ISO I would have to buy a kit :16:. Cheers Simon
  22. You might also need a M18 socket/ring spanner not supplied with some socket sets as standard....they normally supply 15,17,19 :). Dead easy to do once the nuts are undone, full lock 1 way and if I remember correctly I jacked the car up and then lowered the car back down with a block under the disk, which compresses the suspension and makes removing the links easier. Note don't lower the car onto the disk completly, just enough to make the links go slack and easy to remove, refitting same as removal. I only struggled as didn't have a M18 socket :).
  23. Worth checking with Frauds, mine is a 1999 model and prices have come down to
  24. Just replaced drivers side yesterday, I fitted a genuine Fraud one about 6k ago on the same side....local speed bumps have wrecked it I guess. Got it from Fraud again @ the discounted price of
  25. All is still well on the vibration its gone completly, have had a couple of new tyres since this topic started but not made things bad again.
