  1. Can anyone tell me if this sounds correct.. It is standard c/l - not remote. I have 2 sets of keys with 2 in each as follows: Set 1 has a flat red key and a flat black key. The red key operates the pass-door/tailgate/ignition. The black key operates the driver door only. Set 2 has a torch black key and a flat black key. The torch key works as per the above red key, and the flat black key is as per the above black key. I have never had a car before that has seperate keys for driver and pass door. I am fairly certain that the barrels have never been replaced.
  2. Drive along at 25mph, stick it in 5th and floor it. If the revs rise quickly but the vehicle speed doesn't, then it suggests clutch slippage. i.e it's may need replacing.
  3. Ask your local dealer for a look on their Microcat system to find part number YC15-V550A74-EA. It is a swinging (left-right) tie down hook used on Transit in Norway and Sweden only. The bolt comes with it but you could use whatever fits.
  4. Ah ok, fair point. I have developed a paranoia about this kind of thing now. It is truly amazing how much energy and damage potential loose objects can have even at 30mph. (Just don't get me started on the morons who let their dogs sit on the parcel shelf - i.e how to get decapitated by a poodle!!)
  5. I was in Halfrauds recently, and found some tarpaulins (small:2mx3m) on sale for only a few quid. Also, in the pet-travel section, they have a heavy duty 15ft galvanised aircraft cable with spring-close hooks at either end for
  6. check out this link: http://www.bakerleisure.co.uk/page2.html I got a 4 sensor off ebay (same seller) for
  7. I had a little go with a sink plunger last night on the off chance it would work. I could pull the area out but it's 'wobbly' and flexes back easily. The problem seems to be that the door skin is quite thin and it has been stretched slightly i.e it's not going to 'pop' either way any more. I'll try the water idea, and if that doesn't work I'll leave it - it's hardly noticeable really. (I am discovering 1st hand that dark cars show dirt pretty darn quickly).
  8. Our new (to us) Mk1 has got a saucer sized dent (not creased and not cracked the paint) in the driver's door. The dealer where we got it said his bodywork contact reckons on about
