Hi - I get stalling when approaching juctions dropping from 3rd to 2nd usually. Rev's die off and don't pick up sometimes. No hunting of revs. Just had a good ferret round and can't see anything obvious. The ICV has been cleaned out also. Anyone want to suggest a checklist.. SPARKS, HT LEADS,RELAYS (which ones?) MAF??, LAMBDA sensor?? Help

Quick update - one of the bulbs has just blown after two months of average usage. Stuck the originals back in. Rubbish <_<

The steering column height-adjust on mine has a low clamping force so it lowers itself after a while. Is it just a pinch bolt or some cam action at the end of the lever? Haven't got any round tuits for a proper investigation so any heads up prior to battle is welcomed.

Seating Positions When Travelling
djacks42 replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Seats are tested using impact-simualtions - not crash testing as such. The seat assemblies themselves are homologated with 50%ile dummies in forward and rearward 20g/30ms sled tests, although the acceptance criteria is applied to fwd direction only. The belt anchorage points are signed off seperately in static pull tests - again forward direction, as are whiplash tests. Also, if you turn the frt passenger seat around, I don't think you can see the nearside mirror! -
Stuck them in at the weekend and I would say they are an improvement over the std bulbs - certainly brighter but not sure how much extra light they thow on the road. They also have that hi tech blue look which is kind of cool but is very annoying for anyone in front - misted up back window/blue light = cop car chase freak out! Wouldn't pay halfords prices for them mind. A 'nice to have' only.

On my 96 it's not listed as 'power sockets' in the handbook, but look for fuse F35 (20A) in the interior fuse box. Top left is a bank of 5 relays and it's just above these.

Not sure if it is by design, but if I have the rear heater on and then switch on the frt heated screen, the heater cuts out. It comes back on if the screen is switched off. Bugs me that does.

I guess these are just the looky-likey bulbs. It says they are Xenon but for the price of a pint I guess they're not the real deal. It's these ones.. Item Number: 7933566442 Title: 5800K FORD GALAXY 95- XENON HEADLAMPS BULBS H4

I just ordered some of those 5800k HID headlamp bulbs currently on Ebay. Anybody know if they're any good or how long they last? T'was only a few quid so worth a try I think.

Unbolt it and have a good look to see if it is still serviceable - may just be that the spindle has seized up. The mk2 got a zinc coated winch, but is still succpetable to corrosion. Get it off to inspect / rewind / grease... Or If it's knackered then replace it - but not at the cost you stated... Eng. PN: 95VW-19E513-AF Excl. VAT: 89.77 Incl. VAT: 105.48 (I believe that they are all serviced by 4M51-19E513-AA now actually).

My van is fully chipped and lowered. But that's just SO's driving and depreciation for you. Super chips - yummy.

Search site/TIS for ICA valve - gets coked up and requires cleaning. Easy peasy job.

I could really use a rear-floor rubber mat (i.e 3rd row seats out) but

Just like badges, BSM's are attached with a 3M self adhesive foam-backed strip. Parts are warmed in heat cabinets and the surface is prepped with a mild degreaser.

I have had a good look through ECAT (new Microcat) and it looks like the buzzer must be PIA with the IP loom or associated with the CJB (black box). i.e. it seems not to be a serviceable item by itself. If it can be located as a seperate unit by tracing the wire back, and you cannot get a direct replacement, then a standard Maplins part would be a substitute.

1. Post-it note on the dashboard? 2. Say 'Beeeeeeeeep' when you take key out? 3. Don't drive in the dark. No..?

Would a split boot on the steering rack cause frt-whl tracking to go skew-wiff? I guess it could, but I am not clear how exactly. Anybody replaced one of these suckers? p.s.I am vaguely aware of the ARB droplink issue but I have not heard it knocking yet.

Where Can I Get One Of These?
djacks42 replied to a topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
If you are still struggling to find a replacement, it might be worth having a go at a repair? The liquid-metal products available these days can be used for cracked sumps, pump brackets etc. Should be ok for a bit of pipe. Failing that, pop down Plumbers R Us. -

The originals on mine are the clip type and one of these had already been replaced by the later screw type (requires a retrofit rivnut or stick or a little bit of wood in the holes). Little covers are ordered seperately. However, on recently ordering another replacement, I got one of the original clip types which are a PITA to fit. You -will- break at least one of the clips trying to locate them so make sure you have a spare to hand. It also greatly helps if you snip the seat back fabric which otherwise stops you pushing the tray for full clip location.
