  1. Quite agree!! Some of these comments are outrageous!! Bad day? Keep it to your selves!! :D
  2. Make sure all moveable iteme such as gas canister etc are situated behind the axel, thus lifting the weight off tow hitch. You can expect a certain amount of wheel scrub with the extra load (drag) but if the van is balanced properly (you should be able to raise it slightly by lifting the hitch by hand - i.e. off the stabiliser wheel) your car should be within its limits.
  3. It would show "Phone" in the display if this were the case, AFAIK
  4. Which cae do you have  ?
  5. Obvious Gregers! To be or not to be!! :P
  6. Door light switch? Are the interior lights coming on when you open the door?
  7. Are you certain the regulator is scuppered? Broken wire in boot between door and A pillar? :(
  8. This is a complete guess. Have you reset the counters yet? It may be because they have gone past their limit. On my Mk2 you toggle between trip values and overall values be pressing the bottom button on the wiper stalk. You reset either by holding this button for a few seconds. Worth a try! :(
  9. I recently had locking problems. Your first port of call is the loom between the door and A pillar. http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...c=18183&hl= :(
  10. Does the knock occur when the vehicle is stationary - i.e. on or near full lock? If so I would be guessing your issue is belt related. I'm sure you got the correct belt and your other replacements were new? If your knocking happens on change of direction of steering I might suspect it is suspension related arbs or track rod ends. :(
  11. I would guess it would depend on which wheels you have
  12. I would guess it would depend on which wheels you have
  13. http://ford-xpert.com/component.jsp?model_...mponent_id=4065 Dealer only I would guess. VW probably cheaper :)
  14. Coma PD fully synthetic -
  15. AFAIK you can check the timing on VagCom. Do a search. As far as oil is concerned it is ESSENTIAL to use aproper PD oil <_<
  16. I replaced my EGR with an original recently. Old one had a fractured lug and had to be bypassed. Economy? little different. Smoke? Lot less now. Noise Much quieter now. The part you are looking at is a bypass. I prefer my clean quiet car! <_<
  17. Any of these guys who knew what they were doing should have found it in no time! Lazy baskets!!!! VW will probably be cheaper. Check out vagcat.com. (You'll need to register(Free)) <_< PS anyone who's seen me give similar advice before, NO, I don't work for vagcat. I've just found it a God send :)
  18. Get yourself a lead off fleaBay. It's a LOT cheaper!!!!! <_<
  19. If you check VagCat.com (You'll need to register (Free)), you can see if there are different looms for different set-ups. <_<
  20. The fact that it went OK after a restart would suggest it had beed in limp mode. You will need to check for error codes which will be stored from this occurance. As I'm sure you're aware since you're not new on here :) it could be any one of about 50000000 things. Make life easy for yourself and VagCom.
  21. With the ignition on(acc position) but the engine off, engage reverse or switch on the sessors. Each individual sensor make a ticking sound (like a watch). If one or more is not, tthen it indicates a faulty sensor. Having said that, I had a faulty sensor which ticked away merrily. It is your first test however. Also you can use VagCom if you have access.
  22. I read somewhere that the plastic key is to gain access only and as a template for new keys. But can you not program with the one transponder key?
  23. Did you eventually get this done? I need mine off now. I could use a little direction. 1.9tdi AUY
  24. Cam belt - Gates kit off fleaBay -
