Hy

I am on the lookout for another galaxy. Mk2 this time.

The first point on any car i'm looking at is it being an auto (due to disabillity).

Are there any good automatic galaxies ? I ask this as most of the posts on here seem to doupt the automatic as being reliable.

I prefare tip-tronic style but wont be upset if a standard auto is better and therefore the one to go for.

I reckon most other issues I should be ok with.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated

Many thanks in advance

Sean.

I forgot to mention, It matters not what the engine is, be it deisel or petrol, or the size of engine. I drive like a snail so am not bothered about it being a vr6 or turbo etc.

Thanks again

Sean

Your Quite welcomehttp://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/public/style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif, sorry I don't have an auto, I guess that most posts on this forum that seem not to rate them might be influenced by that peeps need help when they've gone wrong, not many peeps post when they're working as intended. Buying any auto car is like buying a lottery ticket, it all depends on how it's been driven & serviced previously. As for your question regarding any good auto galaxys, I didn't really understand, it's a bit like asking if there are any good manual galaxys.

People on here are usually quite friendly and will help wherever possible when they understand the question, berating people will alienate them and should you ever need the vast knowledge available on here and other galaxy forums (of which many members belong to) you may find that help not so forthcoming.

I'm off to enjoy my bank holiday weekend, cleaning out my EGR using the fantastic advice available.

Just like to say thanks to the 40 odd people that read my post regarding automatics. really gratefull for all your advice and comments.

Yours,

Sean......

Perhaps the 40 odd thread views may have been people looking for the same advice, or maybe had a passing interest in the subject, or maybe had nothing better to do. As a rule, most people who don't reply have no relevant advice to give.

Personally, I never even saw the thread. I don't come here every day, I have other things to do, and only scan this section occasionally anyway.

As for autos, I would say that a good guide as to the reliability of units is the availability of good secondhand units, and the prices which are driven by demand. All Galaxy auto gearboxes seem to be fairly scarce secondhand, and command good prices.

I think the general consensus is that all automatics give problems with age no matter which make box or make of car it is.

We see a lot of members with problems with their auto box or the electrics that go with it on here, but if you look in on other forums E.G different make/model you will see they are not without their problems.

I recently had my box overhauled, and in their car park was a whole range of different makes and models waiting for repair.

Thanks for one of the replies. Simple really to give others the knowledge gained over time, don't you think ?

As for the instant replies that are obviously only posted to try and be clever or to start an arguement......................................get a life. you read the orriganal post and said nothing, then sat in your arm chair and attempted to belittle......

I now have my answer, and am pleased I will no longer have to visit this site. As its obvious galaxy auoto's are as a general rule, no good.

Again thanks Chispb123456, I hope other users might just learn how to exchange a simple verse that could be helpfull like yours. Rather than waiting for a bitchin contest.

Sean , you could of course do the other thing and take your car to a dealer - where you will no doubt get the attention you deserve. There are no guarantees on here - this is just a forum not a garage. You get what you pay for here - Oh - that's nothing! So you shouldn't feel short changed then.

Its the flange left to the traction rod, close to the oogermegit,

Sean,

There are few autos on the market therefore less answers, so when it comes to questions about the auto there is less knowledge (even from your dealers) however you have assumed that everyone on this forum is an expert, if we were there would be no service centers.

You can either pick up your dummy, put your toys in your pram and be sensible as the guys on this site may be able to help you in other areas in the future or you can be sarcastic and leave, I will happily delete your account and access to the Whole of this server if that is your desire.

Kind Regards

Glen
