stanstag Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 Hi again. So I exchanged my parking sensor module and now the thing makes no noise at all! With the old module in the light on the switch flashed and it bleeped for a few seconds. With the replacement module in there is no light and no noise. Any ideas what the problem could be? Could it be anything other than the module? Quote
chrispb123456 Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 You really need to scan with vagcom as this will pinpoint the problem, was this a new module or a secondhand one.My guess is you got a secondhand one that is U/S.The flashing light is telling you there's a fault on the parking sensor circuit which could be a simple wiring fault at one of the bumper sensors or one or more faulty bumper sensors. stanstag Posted March 18, 2012 Author Report Posted March 18, 2012 Yeah it was a working second hand module. Why would it not work on another vehicle? What's U/S by the way? Quote
chrispb123456 Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Had you actually seen this module working yourself? reason I ask is they are prone to getting wet under the seat when the rear washer pipe comes apart and floods the module.U/S is short for unserviceable, which could also be said to be knackered, broken, or f******. stanstag Posted March 19, 2012 Author Report Posted March 19, 2012 No I hadn't seen it working. Got it from used parts place who told me it was working. It worth plumping for a new one then you think? Non of the sensors are working, front or back so I can't see it being them that are dodgy. Where is this washer pipe? I can't see it in the well under the seat? Quote
Mr Tele-Com Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 Hi Stan Stag i am new to working on cars in any way but recently pciked up a 2002 Galaxy 2.3 with similar issues When in reverse the Parking light falshes and you hear a sounder from the back of the car for around 2-4secs BUT when revesing or moving forward none of the sensors seem to work and there isnt any notification we are getting close to a wall etc under the passenger seat if the control box which i undernd are prone to water leak from ford place a joint to the back washer in the same areanot only that the screw the circuit board to the floor when you have loads of room i took out the circuit boards, looks clean, plugged everything together but spaced it so it was around 3 inches off the base so its less chance of getting wet if there is a leak with the engine running i can hear all 4 of my sensors clicking at the front but only 2 of the 4 at the back are clickingi also understand by readinging round it could be the following 1 - Faulty Buzzer2 - Faulty Sensors3 - Faulty Wiring to the sensors maybe on the back of the bumper4 - OR faulty circuit board im going to check the wiring on the back on the sensors tomorrow when its dry not sure if this helps Quote
glyndwr Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 hi Mr Tele-Com iv got the same problem as you i was told that their is a plastic arm coming of the clutch and that could be broken Quote
MadBaz Posted April 9, 2012 Report Posted April 9, 2012 When the button is pressed/reverse selected, a flashing light and the rear speaker sounding for 3 seconds indicates a fault. It only takes one sensor or any of the sounders to be faulty for the whole system to be put into a fault state. The easiest way to diagnose is with VCDS Lite (Vagcom). There is no signal from the clutch switch to the parking module. Quote
