i hav a mk1 2000 plate back wiper dont work bought a second hand 1 still dont work checked fuses ok checked relay were wiper relay should be there isnt one not even a conection to put one there so it said in my owners guide an r21 aswell the relays are numbered different could sum 1 if possible help thanks

I would check the wiring to the tailgate through the gaiter first, it's common for the wires to break in here causes all sorts of problems

i concur. but put a new bit of wire in dont join old wire together its too brittle and will go again. if you cant solder use a inline joint theres enogh flesx to pull out of car/hatch so it only flexes on wire, check other ones while in there.

1.trace the broken cable by colour back into the rh side plastic removeable cover.

2.pull a new piece of cable up to the tailgate through the rh pillar through the rubber trunking and into the tailgate.

3.join the cable using elecrical tape in the tailgate and boot, do not join at the rubber boot or the problem will recur
