Galaxy Heated Rear Window Relay

hi, i am new to this forum i am having trouble finding the heated rear screen relay on a 2003 ford galaxy tdi, i have the handbook, and in the list of relays i cant find one for the rear screen, i have removed the bottom part of the dash and removed the fuse box to get to the relays but cant find the one i want. any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum - with regards to your query. i am slightly confused as the handbook does not state that there is a relay for the rear heated screen, just a fuse which is number 51. 20amp and yellow in colour. What makes you think there is a relay for the screen? I may be wrong.

The HRW & HFW relays are incorporated into the GEM module, IE there soldered onto the PCB inside the black box that also holds the fuses.

If your HRW isn't working the chances of it being the relay are slim, the chances of there being faulty wiring in the tailgate to body gaitor are quite high and easier to check.

hi, thanks for the replys i have checked the wiring going to the tailgate and its okay, the switch is putting power out when it lights up, but the cable is not heavy enough to power the back window so there must be a relay, the wing mirrors are heated which are meant to come on with the heated rear screen but they are not coming on either but if i put power to the switch side of the heated mirrors relay they work perfectly

If fuses 19 & 51 are OK make sure that one side of the fuse holder is live with ignition on and window switch on, there may be a supply fault to the fuses.
