ianandsarah Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Hi, I have a 2002 Galaxy 1.9 Tdi. The fuse that controls the central locking, clock and radio controls on the steering wheel keeps blowing. It has been to the local garage who say they can't find any short circuit, and have suggested taking it to an auto electrician. Any suggestions of things I could try before resorting to this? Thanks. chrispb123456 Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 Hi and welcome to the forumThe wiring in the door gaiters would be my first starting with the drivers door and tailgete.Breaks/chaffing in these wires causes all sorts of problems, may also be worth scanning with vagcom and see if any faults been recorded. zorgman Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) as above, you tried the single test yet, ie open shutting doors loadsa times my bet its the drivers door, when fixing wire btw dont rejoin the wire/s insert a new section in there and no crimping, if your good you can use the lap wrap start off wire over each other looks like a W twist one side clock other side anticlock very tight then insulate with good tape and no solder so no stress point Edited November 28, 2011 by zorgman Quote
