HI I wanted to know if there should be engine oil going into my brake vacuum, on my galaxy 1998 diesel.

also the pipe that comes from the vacuum keeps coming off whilst driving what could this be?

assuming yor talking about the brake servo, no there shouldn't be oil in there.

Are you sure it's not brake fluid leaking from master cylinder.

Is the end of the pipe split, it needs to be a tight fit.

pretty sure it is engine oil took it off today and it had black oil in it.

there is not a very tight fit on the vacuum this is towards the right hand side of the engine,

then the pipe goes round the back towards the turbo and then into the master cylinder.

I have just found a split where it splits of to the turbo, and I have taped it up for now but the pipe still falls of the vacuum so I have also taped that on.

would u suggest I need new pipes and also the vacuum.

I presume the seals have gone for there to be oil in there.

nope no oil the vac pump is at front of engine just to the left of the big connector. now think positive here its vacuum so its not coming off pump as it sucks not blows, the fluid your talking about get it tween your fingers and rub oil wont dissapear and keeps lubing where brake fluid creates a sort of friction feeling try with oil off dipstick the some brake fluid to know what im on about as its a good test. the turbo wont give oil to vacuem as its a servo on there no direct connection. i cant think anywhere on vac system where you would suck oil from considering the servo is under constant vacuum with enging running except when you press brake pedal and air rushhes in then back to vacuum

hi it is defiantly engine oil, took it back off and done your test and it does just keep lubricating.

would this meam that the seals have gone on the vacuum?
