iirc it dosen't matter which way round they go, I found a plug on an old wiring loom I had and just soldered the wires to it.

Correct its a dumb solonoid pump - ie its just a coil so it makes no odds which way around you connect it.

ok thanks for that, some one told me that if you connect it the wrong way it makes the pump work in reverse but wouldnt pump the fuel. have you heard that one ?

bet the same person said your maf was faulty as well the usual weekend mechanic. nah but serious its works the same as a soloniod on starter 12v in makes a magnectic field pulling the iron shaft in as theres one way valves it can only pump one way

well the bloke was a electrician who said it would pump in reverse , not a auto one though a house one maybe 240v pumps work different, i shall as always take the free advice from those who know, thats some great brains on here.

If they thought it was a regular motor pump then they would have been semi-right - the impellor would rotate the wrong way but it seldom pumps anything when connected the wrong way as they are designed to push fluid in one direction not the other! However again, we are dealing with a solonoid pump not a motor pump so just plug it in!
