Hi, Have repaced the rear pads on the near side ok. The drivers side, whilst using a G - clamp, the piston will not go in....turns ok with a pipe grip on. I know this is prob not the best way to go about it, but hey you know... The bleed nipple feels like it would shear off if I try to undo it. Any sugestions? Cheers Mark

Fixing My Front Seat Tilt Adjustment
koro replied to chazy's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Just want to show my appreciation to Chazy, he was good enough to post me his spare "thingy". Ruddy decent of him, I just hope I am able in the future to be able to do something similar...... Many Thanks -
Hi, I thought about taking a feed from across the otherside light. Though like the post MadBaz wrote have heard about not cross feeding. Although I cant see the problem of removing the non-working fuse and splicing off the working feed of the rear light. It would in my mind, be like having both rear lights working off one fuse, I realise that if the fuse blows then I would have no rear lights, could live with that....Am I totally wrong.... ;)

Hi, As the title says, have given up looking for the source of problem. Intend to run a new wire back to near side rear light on my VW Sharan. The 5 amp fuse (No 51) blows every now and then...How do you get in behind the fuse box holder, hoped to crimp onto the correct wire coming out of fuse holder and run it back to within a few inches of bulb holder. Seems like a simple solution to me, though it will probably not... Anyone know or have done this, appreciate any ideas.. Koro

Guys, an update..... When I said earlier that the front side light was working, that was incorect, when the fuse blows front near side and rear near side light goes out. The mistake happened as it was peeing down with rain, and got the Mrs out to check the lights, I of course did the difficult bit of turning the switch ^_^ Well as it stopped raining I checked again myself.... Definately fuse 56, 5 amp. When replaced, after about 30 miles it blows, though on the last occasion last night the bulb stayed intact. I took the bulb out replaced the fuse and after about 80 miles the fuse is still ok. I dont know if that says something as to where the problem lies I dont know, what I thought I might do is put a blown bulb in and see if the fuse stays intact.. When stationary the lights and everything else works correctly.. The bulb does feel nice and tight whwn fitted.. I really do appreciate you guys spending time with my problem...

Hi, I was getting peeved off with it all, hence the idea of linking the rear side lights together, ruddy lights.... All other lights work fine, no trailer lights wired up have followed the lighting loom as far as i can... though from what you are saying could the short come from somewhere else on the electrics and not necessary the rear lights wires? If that is the case would re running another wire to the rear light be a waste of time? Cheers

Hi , Fuse 56 VW Sharan 1.9tdi Aug 2000, W reg, newer shape at the time...

Hi, I would be totally lost without this forum, I keep looking to see if I can give an answer to someone else`s problem. Except it is me asking the question... My rear near side light, keeps blowing, fuse as well. Replacing these items lasts about 20-30 miles then same again. Cleaned up the earth on the bodywork I have tried to follow the wiring as far as possible but cant find anything amiss. Damm frusrtrating... Want a cheap fix, how would I go about routing a new wire back to the fusebox? i.e where to I connect both ends of wire. Also why do the rear lights both work off seperate fuse`s, could I get away with looping across from the other working rear light? Thanks everyone for looking...

Noise From Engine After Switching Off Ignition
koro replied to koro's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thanks for your reply, it`s a VW 1.9 tdi, Aug 2000. I was beginning to think you all thought I was mad, the gentle purring sound you mention was the right description for it. The purring has changed into the sound of a cat having it`s nuts chewed. -
Hi, Have noticed that the engine when after switching off the ignition makes a strange noise, for a couple of minutes then suddenly stops. I am sure it always did this, except now the noise dosn`t sound as healthy. This will happen even when the ignition switch is turned on then off , and without the engine being started. Any idesa what it is?

Wipers ( Seized, Re-greased, Fitted Now Problem)
koro replied to koro's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Thanks for replying, other than refitting in what I thought was the same position I am not sure.. Where is the park position, I am assuming you mean where the linkage fits to the wiper motor? -
Hi, Thanks to the good people of these forums, I was able to find the problem of my Sharan`s windscreen wipers, namely seized... Now my problem...... Refitted, wipers work fine, but I cannot get the same coverage of wipe on the windscren as before, ie the wiper on the drivers side comes short of about 4" at the top of it`s wipe, ..hope you can follow this.. I have readjusted on the splines, but then when turned off they rest a good way up the windscreen. I had marked the windscren with tape so as to replace them in the same position ( although they may not have been the correct position when seized). I marked the plate where the motor fits and re-fited in same place (may have moved on refiting the linkage in vehicle) The passenger wiper is on the spline so as at its bottom wipe it just touches the trim. I cannot figure out what I have done wrong, it must have something to do with the linkage...I am hoping someone here can point out what d...head thing I have done wrong

Hi, VW Sharan 1.9tdi Wreg. After the dashboard brake warning light came on I checked the pads and oil level which were OK. Does anyone know of any common faults which might be causing this light to stay on permenantly. Many thanks, <_<
