wat do u mean camshaft out of spec its done 129 thousand miles n reg 2.0l glx been told it might be bent valves?

hi i have a loud tapping sound. i have just replaced the tappets as it was making a lower tapping noise before. but as the new ones are in its making a louder tapping noise. 6 of the tappets were not moving before only two were. just wondering if anyone would tell me what it could be cheers dewsy.

just got my tappets done and my timing chain tensioner fitted and guide 96 glx petrol gal. got it back sounded sweet next morning it was making a loud tapping sound the hydraulic timing chain tensioners top came off and smashed all my guides. got new one for three and a timing chain kit and tappets chucked in. changed it all including tappets. still a loud tapping sound could it be a bocked oil pump? not sending oil to tappets . cheers dewsy

well if there there is sixteen hydraulic lifters then it must be 16v then my mates a mechanic and he no,s wat he is saying. unless there is 8 valves just for show :lol: :blink:

been down my mates had top of engine off cause replacing tappets /hydraulic lifters there is 16 of them so i assume it is 16v then or do i need glasses lol

just searched the net it might be wrong but az galaxy glx 2.0 petrol is a 16v and a galaxy lx 2.3 is a 8 v

hi i was going to do a oil change jacked my car up put some engine flush in revved it for ten minutes went to undo sump plug and it rounded off so i cant drive my car as its got engine flush in and if anybody nos a way to get the sump plug off pleassssssssse let me no cheers a very peeeed of dewsy

my n reg ford galaxy 2.0 glx petrol sounds like a tracter i did a oil change used 5w 30 in it and it made it louder. do anyone reckon i should use thicker oil in it to solve the problem cheers leigh :lol:

just found out it is my bearings one on the front and back one on way out gonna cost me
