Slightly OT, but is it normal for the cig lighter to give power even if the car is switched off (and locked) ?

I've just checked, the MK2 also flashed once for closed and twice for unlock.

Does anybody know what kind of connectors a 03 Galaxy will have for the stereo? I've bought a stereo from Argos with ISO connectors, and want to know if it will fit to the galaxy without any adapter, etc. Yes I know, I should have checked first, but it was a mis-pricing and I got a MP3 capable player for the price of a non MP3 one. :lol: I'll return if it doesnt fit.

There is a few things I would like to change with my Galaxy (2003, Zetec, 1.9TDI), are any of the following possible? 1) Change the distance the parking censor kicks in with a constant beep.. This is currently 30-40cm and I would like to know when I am close to the car in front/behind, not 30-40cm away.. 10-20cm would be ok. 2) I would like a beep or something when I lock the car with the remote (switching on the alarm), is this possible? At the moment I find myself going back to the car to ensure its actually locked. 3) Can you disable the beeps the car makes when you open the car while the engine if running? With small kids sleeping in the car its annoying if it beeps (warns you) every time you open a door. Thats it for now. :wub:

Mine isn't illuminated, but there is some light on the dials so I can see what time it is (in the dark).

I found out myself.. Its called Rain X, if anybody else is interested.. I tried it on the bathroom mirror this evening and it seems to have worked fine.

I would have created a new thread rather than hi-jacking this one (sorry), but I am unable to create new threads and can only reply to existing ones. Anyway, I read somewhere on this forum that people were recommending a certain spray/bottle to clean the windows with and they would not mist up. Can somebody please tell me what the product is called? I'd like to try it as my Galaxy often steam up if the AC isnt on.

I've got an answer for this one now and will write it here in case somebody else is looking in the future. The Ford stereo (6000) will NOT display ID3 tags (song name, artist, etc), but simply CDX-TXX, just like a CD.. Its a shame, but there you go.

Right, I am picking up my Galaxy this afternoon and very excited to finally own one. Before I purchase a CD changer I would like to know if anybody else has used an external CD changer with MP3 on the CD player that comes as standard in the galaxy (6000?).. Are you able to navigate the folders on the CD (mp3)?, how does the CD player display the content of the CD? Are you able to get a list of songs and pick the one you want to listen to? Or is a better option to rip out the 6000 and replace with a "normal" CD change unit? How do you guy fill in the gap left behind (as the 6000 is very high compared to a normal car stereo)?

Hi all, Im new to this forum, and indeed to the Galaxy itself. I am awaiting delivery of mine but while I wait can I ask a question.. Its a Zetec which will come with the standard Ford CD player and the dealer has agreed to fit a cd change of my choice (I have to buy it). Question is, does the Ford Cd player (5000?) control any CD changer, or will I need to look for a particular type? Also, can you get a CD changer with MP3 support even thought the CD player (controller) doesnt support it? I'd like to get a MP3 cd change is possible. Any recommendations? Thank you.
