i think its the only way out , if your independant throws up anything then take it up with ford , i would say we have all had clutch probs and gearbox , but not to this extent, "YET" and hopefully never, good luck with it and let us know the outcome
-
well glad it cheered you up  , without every bit of factual info its immposible to know, only you and ford have the answer then, as i said in my opinion you'd think they would want to solve it , if they say no either take them to court or pay elswhere , we carnt make ford do it
-
Mmmm trikey one this , i dont think sk was insulting you personally i think we all know taxi's get a battering, if you purchased from ford , then they are responsible for warranty work, but they will argue your brother is not ford trained or employed, this viods any warranty , you'd think ford would want to get to the bottom of it from an engineering/training piont of view, as well as their reputation, i would suggest a meeting with their service manager and try and meet half way on costing, good luck

very unusual to overfill, but i'm not doubting you, you are checking it from a cold engine on a flat surface ?, only i had a customer once checking it on a slope, anyhow as (sk )says they have extraction pumps, just ask them to check any components , and you'll want a print out

i have a friend in recovery , he's recovered two in month with apparantly engine bay fires, carnt say its related , could of been anything, i have a stray plug on mine thats live , makes you nervous doesnt it, its certainly worth speaking to ford try and keep anything in writing for future ref, no doupt they will try and give you the brush off, but persist, what have you to lose?

looks great :D but then it looked great anyway :D is it still as comfy over bumps and potholes though  , perhaps i'm gettin old :D but it does look great anyway :D

-
they used to sell a tool that went between the plug and lead that you could watch to see if the spark was strong/present, a friend had several tested all at the same time , try halfrauds

not familiar with mk1 but possibly the air intake temp sensor ??????????????????????? nope got that  it won't reach more than about a foot from the maf
-
the plastic bit has melted at some point, near somthing hot i'd guess, but it was elec taped and hidden down the back of the air box, just wondered if anyone else had it on theirs , as i don't have a wiring diagram, cheers
