the rattling could be as you say hydro lifters, or ive known injectors to give a similar sound, you would have to crack each one individually to know, your whistling noise, is this under load or at tickover , will it go if you depress the clutch when stationary ? edit , thats if the tappet noise is from that area ? or is it exhaust or heat shield ?

depending on what work you have done it may need to relearn the system if you havn't disconnected the battery then try it ,this resets the ecu, if you have , try taking it for a drive it may settle, ive never had one tick though :)

very common on galaxies - see many previous threads, formula sd oil comes in 5 litre containers only need 4.5l - if they cut corners and not change the oil filter can end up another litre overfilled - I always check before leaving the garage and they give me the container with the other 0.5l for top ups between services guess so :blink: i was always taught to put half then settle then top up as req, but always recheck 10 mins later before refitting cap, i guess it all rush rush rush now
