  4. I thought those bolt heads looked a bit big for a battery tray ^_^ Earth point is under the tray as shown on page 5A.2 of Haynes. Not easy to get to. it may not help , but will it be easier to take out headlight ? ive never done one on a galaxy so carnt remember , should also be one on the gearbox, hope you get it sorted
  5. yes the karma sutra ^_^
  6. they should all go to an earth , clean & replace , sorry dont know where
  7. ^_^ lucky bugga  re pipes, may be o.k for this year, with a rub down & greace, replace next re; starter, wd40 is only a temp fix is it worth the hassle of drilling , you can get them reconditioned yourself , or exchanged at local motor factors
  8. agreed if they overfilled  chances are the apprentice was let loose, hence it could be the wrong grade, if high mileage it all gets gummed up, hence a propper flushing oil, not an addative  , try this first, at worst it may need a new lifter, take it to another garage for a second opinion , it may put your mind at rest ^_^
  9. The new Galaxy does not, and will not, have any problems with the spare wheel securing mechanism......guaranteed. :( ^_^ ^_^
  10. try a few local motorfactors , direct replacment normally around
  11. I don't understand. I thought if the battery wasn't earthed the lights and other electrical items wouldn't work. Is this wrong? :D groundhog day part 2 :) , your battery is earthed, as sk has also said , bad connection, remove clean up & replace , all earth staps/connections ,as winter is approaching i would do the same with the alternater & starter, once this is done , if prob still there report back I thought it was a simple enough question :D Yes or no will do :D :D yes but the man flu took over :)
  12. Hi, looked at the attachment, I assume that is the VW guide. i have the Ford TIS, which is much more basic! The ford TIS just says raise veh, undo, and replace. ( torquing on the ground) I have removed the spare wheel and sprayed into the small holes and will now have to wait until the weekend. Kev to be honest i dont know i found it on here , whilst looking for something else, and remembered you :)
