Looks good in your other post. A thought, if passenger footwell is damp and central locking is stuffed could it be the old rear wash pipe disconnected and flooding the ECU under the passenger seat? Good luck fixing it all. Tim

Almost certainly door to pillar cabling miy is broken at the mo(well the brown wire is) If your's are obviously broken its still very likely that the wire under the insulation is bust. I'm sure other will be along shortly, in the FAQ's are details on resoldering the cabling etc

An Alternative To A Multi-changer
TimsBamma replied to MadBaz's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Thanks for the PIC's and info, will book mark this and come back to it, I want to change the Front and rear door Components and am thinking of recabling the speakers with non wiring loom cables so feeding to a new Headunit etc in one go makes sense. thanks again  -
An Alternative To A Multi-changer
TimsBamma replied to MadBaz's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Hmmm, very interesting.... Had a quick look on line for the Ext H/D, can you say where you sourced yours from? Have you put any 'power smoothing' between the 12v source and the Hard Disk. The drives are remarkably small, reckon one might fir in the DIN sized cubby below the H/U. Hmmm have to spend a while uploading CD's to the drive. Got a pic of the install in the Glovebox? I guess it needs to be easily removable so new CD's can be burned on. Good luck with it. :D -
Howzabout http://www.gsfcarparts.com/ if its a VW sourced part?

Thought I'd bump this up again. As a week away. I'll pop over if I can, Gal99 could you remind me the time? Any point people doing a list of peeps going. TimsBamma (hopefully)

My belief is that engine wise the TDI versions of the galaxy/Sharan/Alhambra are the same year for year ie you'd need to find a 1998 diesel. their would be plenty of detail differences if you tried fitting a Mk2 (2000+) PD engine in for instance. You don't say whether your's is 90 or 110bhp again their MIGHT be differences other than ECU, I'm sure there are peeps far more knowledgeable than I who will pop up soon.

Yep BUT, I'm sure you can get e' cheaper, in addition the KN filters are pre-oiled and this can be bad news for the MAF. I believe the 'Green' filters are better. You won't get a big increase tho' bit more driveability, combine it with a remap however......115 bhp to approx 150

The 130PS Alhambras are badeged as 130TDI, ie the 130 badge is an original item, I've seen them on quite a few cars, have a look on this link for an example http://www.cargiant.co.uk/cars/search3.asp?Id=297608#

Alhambra Climate Control Panel
TimsBamma replied to TimsBamma's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II

Alhambra Front Tweeter Removal
TimsBamma replied to TimsBamma's topic in I.C.E (In Car Entertainment) Discussion
Thanks for the info. :D TBH the sounds aren't all that (perhaps they've been kiddied) My previous Audi A6 and Seat Leon Cupra R had better standard systems and they weren't audiophile by any stretch of the imagination so it just seems a good idea to make that part of the driving experience a bit better. Or try anyway. -
Button On Top Of Integrated Child Seat
TimsBamma replied to dodalexander's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Yep spotted that last night, must admit I'd wondered how to adjust. Bit strange because the other 'child' seat doesn't have the button and has adjusters on the 'chest' straps -
Hi Have found that some nasty liquid (McShake I reckon) :( may have been spilt over the cup holder H/U and Climate Control panel. I'd not tested the Air Con when buying the car a week or so ago because I knew the Condensor needed replacing, so my plee is this. When switching ignition on (before starting the car) the Climate Panel flashes and shows random characters, this stops once the engine is running, is this normal? And has anyone successfully cleaned one of these units, the fan speed buttons for instance work but are sticky in operation, if so what did you use? If cleaning doesn't work then I guess I need to replace, has anyone had to do so before and is it a plug and play job? and any idea of the cost :( Thanks for any help/guidance and aplolgies for the rambling

As it says in the title I guess. I've read with interest the threads regarding door speaker removal. Thanks :( However haven't been able to track down any info on replacing the dash mounted tweeters on a Mk2 Alhambra. Could anyone give any pointers? Do I need to remove the grilles on top or is it a case of getting under the dash :( Have chucked the Scala cassette in favour (temporarily) of a JVC single CD H/U, but want to replace the front 8 speakers with new Components and get a better Head Unit later on as well. Speakers may be Alpine SPS 171A's as I can get them for

Button On Top Of Integrated Child Seat
TimsBamma replied to dodalexander's topic in Questions about the Ford Galaxy
Is this at the bottom of one of the two Headrest posts? If so I'd've thought it was the release button to enable the headrest to be removed so the childs neck support can be taken off and the seat returned to adults only mode.
