i can now say : im an official forum member and galaxy owner :) , at last, ive bought alimited edition 1997 Galaxy ultima 2.8 cdv6, finished in mica stone with full leather interior, im quite pleased with it but got a few bits to sort ,only got 1 key which has no buttons on, so central lockin not workin, passenger footwell is a bit wet, and my front heater fan wont blow at all, niggling faults but all can be sorted, the first one to fix is the fan cos the screen mists up like nobodies business, all part of the fun of owning a galaxy i suppose lol

looking for a v6 , im very tempted on a galaxy ultima that i been offered

ive now looked at 3 gals in the last 4 days and they have all been heaps of dung, the first one had a rear qtr full of filler and a filthy interior, the second was supposed to be a 47000 miler looked like it had done 347000 lol loads of bits broken on it loads of scratches and dents, plus he couldnt produce an mot, and the last one i saw tonite drove it about half a mile and it lurched through the gears so i turned it round got back to the person sellin it, looked under bonnet and foung a nice creamy lookin substance in the oil filler cap so shut the bonnet gave her the key and walked away lol, carry on searchin lol

does anyone know anything about these rare galaxys and also there value , ive been offered one, very high spec with full cream and blue interior,

i like power under my right foot, nothing wrong with oilburners either ,

advantages and disadvantages of both please ,dont want an automatic though, ive heard to many horror stories of autos, my preferance is 2.8 , i like to have the power there if i need it lol

i like them they are nice cars

all cars have their problems dont they , mine has just cost me a fortune due to headgasket failure

my mondeo decided to give me grief yesterday, poxy thing the head gasket went and my mechanic mate thinks its cracked the head too :( , been out and bought a recon head for it today , hopefully gonna strip it and fix it on sunday ,more expense right on xmas

dont know if the gal uses an intercooler , but i had probs on an escort turbo with one intercooler hose working loose and expanding under boost ,obviously no pressure and not alot of go, in my experience with clutches ive never had one just strt to slip like fine 1 min then slip the next ,always found it to be a bit more gradual, with change of biting point etc, usually with a pressure plate or thrust bearing failure you would tend to loose clutch and have problems engaging gear, and probably some mechanical noise, my advice to you maz is if you have a garage nearby take it there on sat morning and just ask somebody to test drive it and see what their opinion is from an "experts point of view" lol that way it will put your mind at rest one way or the other to wether its a major failure and expensive or some thing small and cheap, hope this helps, oh and by the way what does it matter if it takes 3 posts, 33posts or 333 posts to help another member out thats the idea of this site isnt it, i dont here any one moaning about 17 pages of the post " if you have nothing better to do 1 and 2

the bit that the window glass fixes to has some slight adjustment to itwhere it attaches to the winder mechanism, just loosen it and close window slowly it should sit where it needs to then try nipping it back up
