  1. Hi Just push the bumper insert forwards and it slides out, you can then drop it forward and disconnect the sensors, no need to remove the bumper, I did this on my 2002 model. Hope that helps
  2. Thanks for reply, I already have the ford one that slots on the headrest but it doesn't go low enough, just wondered if anyone else had the same prob and found any aftermarket alternatives. Cheers Danny
  3. Hi All, Had my Galaxy for a few years now and will shortly need to use the integral baby seat. After trying my nephew in the seat his head has no support as the head support bars don't come down low enough. Can anyone suggest and accesory that can fasten on, seen something in mothercare that goes on extra but ensure if there are any better options. Many Thanks Danny :D Ps. Galaxy is excellent in all other ways (except air con)
  4. Well I ordered them from WheelBase at 1pm on thursday and they came friday morning at 8am, excellent service. I bought a set of 17's with re-inforced tyres and they came with locking wheel nuts included delivered for
  5. Thanks for that, good to hear, settled at 17's, just have to get best deal now. Cheers
  6. Thanks for that, I think I will go for the 17's as they are the nicest looking alloys I have seen on a galaxy and there are plenty of 17's around so tyres will be good prices as you mentioned. Ps. If you have any pics I would be most interested to see exactly what size the 17's look on the gal. Thanks Again
  7. lol, just wondered how noticeable the difference is as if only very slight then I would go for the 18's as they are cheaper and 16" tyres always seem to be the most expensive. Thanks for the reply.
  8. Hi All, I need to replace my standard 16" alloys as the lacquer is all but shot, and the tyres are all down to minimum tread depth. I want to replace them with the RS6 style alloys that seems to be a favourite for obvious reasons, but am unsure wether to go for 17" or 18". The 17 requires a 45 profile tyre and the 18's a 40, strangely the 18's are a fair bit cheaper? Could anyone who has doen this already give me some good advice as my wife never stopped complaining about the harshness of our last car which had very low profile tyres on. Many Thanks. Danny
  9. Yep it was just the keypad, borrowed one from an r reg escort and it worked a treat, found the code eventually on a sticker by the fuse box Thanks All
  10. Hi I have borrowed an oil suction pump as our local VW dealers now use these as the sumps are getting cracked too easily when refitting the plug. I have removed the oil filter and oil filler cap but am unable to get the suction pipe to go down anywhere. Please help as this method is preferred. Thanks ps. TDI 115 Auto 2002 -_-
  11. Hi My 2002 Gal has just developed a strange one. The wipers work fine at all speeds except for the drivers side blade travels about 4" short of where it used to go to. This leaves a blind spot on the far right of the windscreen. I will tackle it this weekend and strip it down, but from reading the various probs with seizing wipers this doesn't sound the same. Maybe this is just stage 1 and they are about top slow up and then pack in? If anyone has seen this I would appreciate the advice. Thanks Danny :18:
  12. Thanks for the replies, I think I will try to find someone with another model so I can make sure its the keypad before I buy one. Thanks Danny
  13. Hi I have just re installed my 600CD player and have tried to input the code. Buttons 1,3,4 let me input their number but No2 doesn't work. I have tried taking the removeable keypad apart and cleaning the board but it still doesn't work. Has anyone had this before, is it a component that can be replaced or is it a new one. The real pain is that its only to put the code in, after that I could live without preset 2, thats assuming it is the keypad. If anyone has experienced this please share the wealth of information. Many Thanks Danny
  14. Many thanks for the quick replies. Cheers
  15. It seems that many of you have had the same problems with the spare wheel winch mech. Has anyone ever found an alternative as I have tried fixing the unit by drilling out the rivets and replacing the cable but the mechanism must be knacked as it still doesn't work. Someone somewhere must have designed a better system which could replace this, even from a different vehicle (or other) that could be modified. Any Thoughts will be greatly appreciated :) Cheers Danny
  16. Not sure where the beepers are but it was the control box under the passenger front seat that was disconnected. I think the beeper for the front is under the passenger seat and the rear is in the passenger side panel in the boot. Hope this helps. ;)
  17. Thanks for the reply, will look for the part number now, not sure about price as can't find any on ebay. What sort of ball park figure are you thinking? Cheers Danny
  18. Does anyone know a cheap place to get a Visteon HR-1700 Multimedia control module? I have tried eveything I can think of to fix the problem, a replacment module is the only way forward I think. Thanks Ps. For 2002 Galaxy TDI Ghia Auto :)
  19. Hi Hope this helps you as much as it helped me. What an excellent resource this site is !! http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...c=8810&hl=fuses Danny
  20. Hi Gooner Do you mean the unit which supplies both the screens and the feed for the dvd/video? Thanks
  21. Thanks will check pin 7 as it is not the Ford head unit but a JVC one using the adaptor harness, but has worked o.k up until now. Thanks though. If I find it I will post the answer. Thanks for the answers
  22. Hi The aux power sockets centre and back are both o.k but the power to the unit is at 1.5v and should change to 12v when you switch the screens/multimedia unit on. The power stays at 1.5v. I have spoke to fords tech helpline and they only know about two fuses at level 1 but I have checked them, they then said ring Visteon. I phoned visteon on the only number I could get an answer on and they said they were the deign centre and could only speak to ford staff not customers. Tried their customers service number (european) and no answer. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH Back to the drawing board. When you mention the fuse under the centre console do you mean by the handbrake or under the dash. Thanks for taking the time to look at TIS. Thanks Danny
  23. Hi, I have checked all the fuses in level 1 of the fuse box, just had another look under the drivers seat and can only see 3 connecters but no fuse, should there be one here that has maybe been misaligned somewhere under the floor trim near there. This is doin my head in, was outside last night torch and all trying to find the prob. Thanks for the reply danny Just been to my local ford garage, they were clueless, never even seen a multimedia system as they are "usually to expensive as an option". What? Oh well back to the drawing board
  24. I Must be blind as I have looked under there after looking at another post but can't find any fuses, I assumed that this was due to mine being a 2002 and the post was a 99. Please help me if you can advise any further. I have looked under the seat and can only see connecters. I have had the control unit apart and everything I can find but still nothing Thanks ( I have a 2002 TDI Ghia Auto)
