  4. There is a Guy on e-bay selling one for a Mk1 Diesel Alhambra 1.9TDI for
  5. Noticed a tweeting noise coming from the front of the car which disappeared when I drove off so didn't take much notice of it. I've just changed the pollen filter and found a complete birds nest at the back of it!! This must be the most travelled family of birds as I use the car most days. So any unusal squeaks or chirps from the front of your Galaxy check for birds nests!! Bet this is a first

  8. I was in Halfords and saw an aerosol can with a pressure gauge which you connect to the low pressure socket on the aircon and squeeze until the needle is in the green area. Low and behold as if by magic it refills your aircon and cures any leaks all for
  9. Hi Has anyone replaced a rear wheel bearing on a Mk1 1.9TDI and if so can they confirm that the Haynes method with a slide hammer worked or did they have to remove the swinging arm and use a press? Thanks in advance Andy Met
  10. Hi I tow an Abbey Aventura 318 1320kg with a 90bhp Turbo Diesel and it copes no problem. It's now done 155,000 miles and still pulls like a train, it cruises at 65mph all day. Hope this helps Andy Met
  11. Hi Got a price from Mr Clutch and it was
  12. Hi there, Could be worth checking the injection timing, just one tooth out will give a very noisy engine on acceleration. Hope this helps
  13. Hi Had exactly the same problem and it was the mounting for the vacume pipe on the big plastic pipe which goes from the inlet to the intercooler which had snapped off. Next to the battery and in front of the fuel filter ther should be two vacume pipes coming off, one from a sensor and the other to the turbo waste gate. It had me fooled for ages as the snapped off mounting just looked like a rivet and the vacume pipe was dangling out off site at the side off the battery. Interesting how lifting the throttle and putting it back down restores power, but what a pain in the ass when towing with a caravan on a motorway hill!!!!! Hope this helps
  14. Hi there I thought I would have a laugh and price a recon exchange at the ford dealer. Price was
  15. Hi there Check the vacume pipe on the left side of the engine. The one on the ducting that leads from the inlet to the intercooler. There is a pipe which should be next to the pressure sensor. Sometimes this comes off and gives the power loss that you describe. I put mine back on after suffering this problem for months and it cured it, which was fortunate as i was going to buy a new MAS.
  16. Hi There Having a problem with my 1996 1.9td galaxy crunching when you put it in first gear. if you put it in slowly or double de clutch if moving it's ok so I suspect synco is worn. (140000 miles) Anybody any ideas on prices for recon gearboxes and best place apart from the fraud garage to get one from?
  17. Hi Had the same problem and found it was the vacume pipe which had come off, the one next to the pressure sensor on the air ducting leading from the inlet to the intercooler. Could be worth checking.
  18. Hi There Had the same problem with rattling noise over speed bumps and it was the anti roll bar links. Even a small amount of play produces a rattle. Links are
