Heated Front Screen
ALARM MAN replied to Mussey1's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
The heated front screen is primarily for frost on the outside not the inside Bit like rear screen the rear screen heats quicker as the elements are on the inside. The front screen elements are within 2 sheets of glass thus taking longer Regards Ian -
Check your rubber boot from the body to the tailgate wires break there as they door body to doors Sparkrite alarm mmmmmmmmmmmmm Oh well route the wires in through a rubber grommet located above passenger foot area main grommet for most extra wiring Cdl connections Under passenger seat or loom from drivers door above fuse box Pos+ feed to lock and unlock Wires if i can remember are green and grey but do test first If your not sure get back to me Ian

Check the wiring from the body to the rear door they tend to break and to fray revealing the wiring it may be shorting to the other wire Therefore turning both on Ian
-
sounds like your drivers door motor is seizing up as you have to force it to lock Then when locking from other door locks all but drivers stays locked then it tells all the other doors to open Remedy Take door panel off and add a dash of wd40 till working smooth Ian

See ya learn something every day Waiting for alarm spec Cheers Bud

Hi Jim you sure its a standard fit alarm on the focus or have they added on like i do a window closure module ? Can you do it with the Key ? not just the remote ? If not then its an aftermarket thing Cheers Bud
-
Cheaper to go to good auto electrician and get after market unit fitted. Or just pay ford a fortune for there upgrade Total closure is standard on all galaxys because it is a VW sharan in Ford badges Thats why no other ford offers total closure! If you want info on alarms remote locking etc then i can offer my experience in this matter Cheers Ian

By the way does the Maystar alarm have a negative out whilst armed ? If so you can get the windows to close through a cheap module. Let me know

CHEERS BUD -
My god the list is endless i forgot the question Yes you have an alarm unless it is an elaberate warning system Sit in the car and lock it to deadlock via remote control leave 50 seconds and then release bonnet via inside catch if it go's off disarm ( open ) via remote control . Alarm test over warning alarm easily overidden by forcing lock. Alarm No good! solution FIT A GOOD ALARM SEPERATE. And yes i have fit alarms for over 9 years . And yes i work for myself not any company ( no way ) Regards Ian . By the way not advertising for business just helping the public ( your honour )
-
I know this has been in before but can't find the link Has some one got the part number for the horn button. You know the one that falls out after so long. Best regards in anticipation Ian

Also problems if you have cruise control Same thing with the switch we have a 98 tdi i replaced switch 8 months ago and guess what the old switch had a date on it 2000 so i guess this is its third Ian
-
Hi if you lift the bonnet look at the top right bonnet hinge If you have an alarm you will have a switch just below that hinge the arm will make contact as it go's down. Red light in door Transponder immobilisor indication. If alarm fitted interior sensors have about 30-40 second delay before going into operation. Ian

Tell me more ??? -
FACT:- ANY ford keys will lock ANY ford cars (FACT) But they will not unlock the cars. You have by all accounts a car that has had its locks popped at some stage And they have not been fitted 100% some times they do some times they dont Now they do not bets option is remote locking fitted between 80 -120 pounds and forget the b------dy key ian
