I used the company in your ebay link when I replaced the offside driveshaft. It was quicker and easier than messing around trying to change both split boots. Driveshaft came ready to bolt on.

I have a 2002 tdi 115 auto (pd). Been having some rough starts so want to check the glow plugs and replace if faulty. Anyone point me to a 'how to' for either testing and replacing the plugs on my mk2 please?

Update to the problem. I ordered an abs sensor from ebay for £17, my drivers side does not have the brake pad sensor, the passenger side does. Took about half an hour to remove the old one, using drill, hammer, screwdrivers and pliers. Once finally removed, I cleaned the inside qith some emery cloth and the new sensor slipped in fairly easy. Took car for a drive and abs light went out at about 20mph. So, hopefully thats that sorted. Thankfully cheap and fairly straightforward fix.

Its an 02 tdi 115 auto (pd) with 142k miles.

My diesel is very noisy and clattery for first 15 seconds then it idles nice and quietly. Only happens on first start of the day. Seems to be worse in the cold weather. Also get a bit of light smoke for few seconds. Any suggestions as.to the cause?

Found the sensor wire behind front offsside wheel has worn away. Appears to be down to the actual inner wire. Assuming when it gets wet its causing the abs issue. Ive taped it up until I get a new sensor cable. Any know the part number for the cable? 02 plate 1.9tdi 115 auto.

Removed the front offside wheel and found the abs sensor wire partially worn through about half way up. Thinking thats why its an intermittent problem at the moment. Ive looked for a replacement wire but there is a massive difference in price. From £15 up to over £100. Mines a 02 plate tdi 115 auto (pd). Anyone know the part number?

When parking or doing a three point turn etc. When the warning light comes on, the brakes vibrate / rumble but the car doesnt stop. The pedal needs to be pumped to get the brakes to stop the car. I now have a cracked front bumper from it catching me out when manouvering and I nudged a bollard. Any help please guys?

Ive been using pd engine oil. Not really sure what the difference is to other oil. But I was told that ours is a pd engine and so needs the pd spec oil.

Sorry for the dumb question but dont have an owners manual. Shiuld I be checking the oil level in my 2002 tdi pd engine with the oil cold or at running tempersture?

Yeah mine looks exactly the same as yours. The pipe in the wing on mine seems to be attached properly. But looking at your picture closely, it does look like there should be a further piece of ducting. Was hoping that this missing bit would be the answer to my loud roaring noise.

Cheers guys. I have no pipe from the front grill to the airbox. I have the pipe in the inner wing that runs from the airfilter box at one end, the other end finishes under the front drivers side headlight unit which i did think was an odd place to draw air from. Am I missing a piece of pipe from there to the front grill?

Cheers for the reply mate. I'll have a look at those things over the weekend. Re the roar noise, I've got a standard filter fitted. I've removed and refitted and no improvement. The performance is funeral. It's just the awful bloody noise.

No-one help me with any of these problems?

The heater blower noise is coming from the back right of the engine bay as you look at it. It's a bit intermittent so hard to pin down.

Also, noticed in the colder weather it idles very lumpy and noisily for a few seconds. A couple of times it died after a second and I had to restart it and use some revs for a few seconds until it settled down.

Got a few niggling problems. Thought I'd post them all together rather than individually. Any help would be most appreciated. 2002 1.9tdi (pd) auto. 142k miles. 1. Got a loud induction type roar when accelerating. Removed and refiitted airbox and still there. I've checked the ducting on inner wing and it's ok. Any other obvious suggestions? The roar is not really audible from outside the car but is loud from inside. 2. I get a kind of chirping sound from front passenger cabin area which is heating blower related. Fans on low or highest setting, no noise. All other settings results in the chirping noise. 3. Centre dash chubby hole struggles to open. Have to bang it yo open it. Any tips? 4. Headlight adjustment wheel doesn't work. The wheel spins freely. Should it have like a clicking resistance to it when turned? 5. The engine is using about 400mls of oil every 2k miles approx. Is it normal for the pd engines to use a small amount of oil.? Thanks guys.

Just wondering if someone can offer me some advice about my aux heater. I've got a 2002 1.9 tdi ghia (pd). During the recent cold weather ive noticed a fair bit if white smoke coming out the bag of the car. Also the car takes about 15 minutes of motorway driving to reach 90 degrees on the temp gauge. Just wondering if this is about normal or if I should be examining the unit for a fault. Cheers guys.

Lol. I've only purchased a metal blanking plate for a couple of quid off eBay. Read a few posts and it seemed this was what people were doing.

Hi I'd really like to blank off the egr valve on my 02 1.9 tdi (pd) galaxy. I've ordered a blanking plate with a restricting hole in the middle, as I was lead to believe that this was stop the eml flashing up on the pd engine. However, I understand the vacuum pipe should also be plugged. Can anyone confirm tests all I need to do please? Regards, Chris
