Is the box under the passenger seat not for central locking as well?? Have checked the cables as in he door gaiters haven't got a multimeter thing and not sure how to operate one!!! Car was really bad yesterday morning with condensation on windscreen from the leak might change the pollen filter can this leak in itself as no water gathering in the scuttles?? Really hate this car now luv the space but when issues go wrong with it a complete disaster!

BrianH I just tried the reg loose and it give the same buzzing noise when I pressed the button.

Thanks for all replies. A further update, checked out all door gaiters plus boot gaiter no breaks in the wires. Disconnected the Central locking ECU under passenger seat buzzing noise still coming from passenger window when button pressed. Done what SilverBeast said in his last post and water is running out of hose when disconnected from rear wiper motor so the motor must be broke and not pushing water out. What can I try next? I have a video of the noise the window makes when I press the button if that would be any use?

The funny thing is the passenger side footwell is bone dry and never leaked. Would u still advise to check this out?? That's the seal on the drivers door I have been talking about the weatherseal wud that allow water to get into car? How much is one of these new approx??

Not too sure where the ground point is?? Yes scuttle tray back in. Is the joint ur talking about along the door trim front passenger?? No water there just checked. The seal is the one that runs along the main body of the car and the door closes on it. How do I replace the pollen filter or check it?? Can that leak?? How can I check that??

Not sure about Pollen filter change can that leak?? Haven't tried different switch but both drivers and passenger switch don't work just the same buzzing noise when pressed.

No sun roof and I have had the scuttle tray out several times and water is running freely from wheel arches. Yes pump goes as if water running but not spraying out if wiper mechanism. Cud the ECU under the passenger seat be the problem for the window?? I know it's the issue with the central locking because when key is pressed all that locks are drivers door fuel cap and boot all same circuit I am led to believe. Desperate now as car has only 100,000 miles on the clock and still a lot if driving in it yet!!!

BrianH Thanks for replying. I had an issue with the rear washer joint in the door trim b4 but solved this by connecting it again and that doesn't even work now but still connected???? Yes UK RHD Sharan 2005. Never had any water in the passenger side of the car just still the drivers side. I have ripped out the undercarpet placed towels down but can find the leak anywhere. As I siad in my original post when I got the new drivers side wiring loom fitted the fella who done it removed part of the door seal and I am thinking as this leak only started after that job was done it could be that?? Phone VW who quoted me

Just checked boot and all door gaiters no breaks visible but noticed one of the back doors was dead locked took a while to get open. Reading the net here and all these issues will have something to do with the leak I have in the drivers footwell!! Any more I ideas with the window issue?? Think I may need a new central locking ECU too!! I hate sharans!!

Will do that just had a new wiring loom installed in the front drivers door about 5 months ago so will not be that one. Would the back doors have an effect on the passenger window?? And the the boot gaiter??

Hi I have a sharan 2005 and the passenger window has stopped working. Thankfully the window is closed. It is making a buzzing noise when I press both drivers and passengers buttons. I thought it may have been the motor but got a second hand window regulator and when connected still makes the same buzz noise. Any one any ideas??

Thanks for reply. This is just the cable which I can assume it connects to a laptop?? It says that the software for it may have a charge applied is this correct?

Chromedome hopefully I have better luck with the J&R drive shafts fingers crossed!! It's not ABS lights it the Airbag light that is on and it was on before I did any work to the car!!

No more rattle or knocking all sorted. Was washing car yesterday and notice the outer clasp on the drivers brake calliper was loose moving inside the alloy. Took wheel off and put it back in place. No more noises. I wud say the drive shafts and bearings cured a lot of issues too. Still have airbag light on though. Can a code reader reset this?? Was thinking of buying one?? Any recommendations for one??

Thanks insanitybeard. Just one more thing would u have any idea as to why my airbag light is on the dash? The drivers footwell and under the drivers seat was full of water but I have it most dried out now think it was door seal but the airbag light still on??

If I remove the under cover will I see it??

I replaced the whole driveshaft both sides and the 2 bearings old ones fell out!!!

Yes new anti roll bars was installed and top mounts of suspension was also check with one replaced. It's a real mystery.

It's like a metal on metal rattle like something is loose not a thud. Insanitybeard I have changed or had checked all of them parts mentioned.
