Hi all ,its a 97 90hp galaxy Had a new engine fitted ,(still crying!!!!!)and need to check all the vacuum pipes are where they should be Ive had a lookin the FAQs and the pretty pics seem to refer to the 115hp unit not the 90,there are two that dont load for me Can anyone post pics of the 90 hp vacuum connections for the turbo and egr system please My haynes and the ford workshop cdrom I have only show a system with a vacuum resevior,which im sure i dont have on my vehicle Sorry if this has been covered before but cant find the info anywhwere cheers dave

Hi all Has anyone else had problems witht he oil feed pipe from the oil cooler to the turbo?You would not believe how quickly oil pumps out of that tiny hole!!!!! Mine was replaced unser warrnaty about 3 months ago ,its gone agian,believe me being towed by the AA round the M25 at 530pm is an interesting experience!!!! It has gone on the turbo end ,right on the bit that tightens down on the union,looks like alli to me Any hints or tips on fitting ,like how tight (usually just go F Tight!) should I go with the new one I noticed that when there was no oil pressure the engine wouldnt start ,hopefully a built in safety measure so I wont need a new engine Also does anyone know if theese are avialable as a pattern part ,Frauds were worse than useless on the phone,GSF dont stock em cheers all

Is it a deisel???? I had the exactly same problem a week after buying my 97 tdi After taking it back and having the garage look at it several times (dont think they relished taking the head of to have a look) the problem was diagnosed as the oil cooler bolted on to the front of the engine(the bit the oil filter screws on to) Apparently it is not unknown for these to erode allowing the oil to get in the water and up to the header tank ,I would guess its caused from the water as it flows thru it One shiny new cooler and the problem seems to have gone away,of course,they might have just filled it up with radweld or something just to get it out of the warranty period but only time will tell The next problem is getting the oil out of the system ,garage flushed it but i still ended up taslking the header tank off and draining the water into a couple of jars,just to see how much oil separated out Not a lot separated but if you check by sticking a finger in the tank it gets covered with oil making it look a lot worse My first check would be the cooler as its a lot easier to do than the head!!!!! You have to wonder tho,if it is a fairly common thing ,how many people have been charged for a new head ,and or gasket ,when it might have been the oil cooler hope this helps

Just wondering if this is normal on the 90hp tdi, As the engine revs while accelerating it is fairly quietish till around 2600-2750 rpm them all manner of engine roar happens ,along with an increase in vibration ,but as soon as it hits around 3250 rpm everything smooths over and quietens right down , Is this normal ,if not, any idea on wots wrong??

looks like the drivers side kiddie seat has gone, but I reckon if you are using the child seat alone then it shouls fit in any side of the car,the handing of them only really applies when using the full size seat belt

open to offers on the seats,singlely or just the child seats or whatever!!!save me sticking them on ebay!

what are these worth realistically?I have just aquired a set of 5(with the other 2 to come) seats,the front captians chairs and the middle row ,which has 2 child seats sand the middle seat dark blue with a pattern ,a bit grubby at the moment and one of the front seats is missing the backrest adjuster tho I think it is just the cover as the knob works ,drivers seat has the lumbar support as well Supposed to be getting the back row seats next week so dont know the condition of these yet Realist prices please guys ,would like to sell as one lot of 7 seats , I know looking a ebay that the child seats are worth a bit Cheers all dave

hi all ,its a 97 1.9tdi 90hp The auxillary belt tensioner (the one that drives the air con etc) pulley seems to have play in it ,can just this tensioner wheel be replaced or is it a whole new tensioner unit ,which looks expensive!!!! cheers
