Things have changed a wee bit GT , IIRC ( and it is silly time in the morn ) you can fly solo with just the A cert. For fixed wing there is the A,B annd C cert. Then there is the A and B for silent flight, and there are different ones for Heli schemes. Its called the achievement schemes...I havent heard of the 6 weeks rule between taking the A and B. Will have a gander on the BMFA website to see as myself i am only a beginner and dont have my A cert yet. If you have the B certificate then you can do competitions and displays, without the B cert you cant. from the BMFA website: Insurance is usually included in a club fee or you can arrange it yourself through the BMFA, and you can get temp cover for 30 days , and from what i have read you can fly at a club for 3 days with third party cover when just starting out ..( if i understood it right.) sorry Galaxytony, cant see anywhere about a 6 week rule. http://www.bmfa.org/achievement/index.html johnb80 a member on here can answer any questions on this subject as he is a qualified examiner and instructor in this sport and has been a great help to me with my questions.Ill send him a pm and provide a link to this thread so maybe he can answer this 6 week thingy you talk about as i know nothing about it.Far as i knew aslong as you have you A cert you can fly solo, and only need the B cert for displays etc.Maybe a few years ago it was all different to what it is now.

Windscreen Misting Up

heated screen is for outside..mind...saying that it clears my rear screen if misted up..as Bleeno says, its because of moisture in the car.My gal did it for a while till the carpets were dry when i washed them...Hmm...must admit though thinking back..my booster heater didnt work and on very cold mornings it would mist up.Then id just stick climate control on full blast till it did clear -
oh dear.......mustnt hit them with a hammer..not the done thing. The thread i did on mine with loads of help and advice from the peeps on here helped me a great deal.might be worth a read to see if it can help you.
