THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED AND VALUED COMMENTS IN THIS REGARD

That's only part of it. The box of tricks is also "tuned" to local conditions. i.e. decently graded diesel etc. An out of the factory diesel will run on diesel from any part of the world..and belive me there are some huge differences in quality. The box will basically trick the car into thinking it's been remapped (remapping is something different) for top quality only diesel and use the appropiate settings instead of the general ones. Just the same as Fairy washing up liquid is the same as Tesco value stuff, but is a lot better (I don't think it would work in the car tho!! :D )

I had one for my motorhome which bumped the power up from 85 to 110 bhp. It worked and made a hell of a difference. Fuel consumption went down a little but not much. Takes about 30 secs to install/uninstall (had to with mine as was under warranty) Basically mine was a box of tricks (cost about

..unless of course you use a formula of 6 litres of 15W/40 engine oil to 205 litres of 28 sec (RBO) kero which will run as diesel.....oh no, don't do that it's illegal

The companies put it in at the refinery these days.

If that's true then we all have a problem don't we? My wife's car is a 1997 with 130K on the clock - the Aux heater works fine and doesn't smoke or sod a bout at all. My motors a 2001 - done around 85K miles and so far has had a new glow plug. What would a service do then ? :o I would imagine that your engine could go 85k w/o a service, but you wouldn't run that without a service would you? A glow plug is a service item. A clear out of all the crap as above would help! And don't shoot the messenger!

On my motorhome, I had the same sized burner (5Kw) from the same maunfacturer, which heated both air and water. This required servicing every year. It was Eberspacher themselves that stated it should be serviced each year, so I wonder what's going on with the VAG and Fraud?

Cheaper to sell and then rebuy- a 130 or if you can stretch a 150!!

My then 2 yr old Gal was found to have a torsion bar with play in it which was replaced. I don't know if this is a Gal problem?

Is The Warranty Invalid If A Ford Dealer Not Used?
widu13 replied to IDH's topic in Dealer Service and Reliability (Galaxy)
As of a few years ago the monopoly was abolished by EU law and Ford have to honour the warranty but Ford parts must be used and as pointed out the garage VAT registered. (Only so they can prove the mechanic is qualified.) -

Spot on mate, well done. -
That's the one further up the thread but w/o the compressor. They're all made by the same manufacturer but then branded differently. Don't pay that money, look around and pick 'em up for

Had that model for about 4 1/2 yrs now, still going strong. Bought another and keep 1 in each car!!
-
On your model it can be turned on manually, if you haven't done that then yes it should switch off.
-
Not if there's no smoke. I had an Eberspacher heater on my motorhome and they're not as frugal as is claimed. A loss of 50 miles is acceptable. Once then cabin is up to temp, I have found that if I switch off the rear heater, then the aux runs down as the extra heat isn't being stolen by the rear heater.

...and for the price of a new glow plug...New heater unit Just saw mine working for the first time yesterday..whoopee!

I thought that was 505.00 or was it 502.00!! -

Just a "what if"! Change that 115 to a 130 or even a 150 flavour and how do things shape up then?
-
The BMW 535 petrol and diesel have exactly the same 0-60 figures, but from there on including 50-70 and top speed the diesel is faster.
-
It's got to be down to what you pay for it. If two cars more or less the same price come along, one petrol and one diesel MOST (not all) people will get the diesel. This is how I ended up with my Gal in May. 2 years old and
