Birchwood Ford, Eastbourne- Pants
widu13 replied to widu13's topic in Dealer Service and Reliability (Galaxy)
My wife got it sorted out today. Took them 3 1/2 hrs to fit the new "mystery" pipe and to clean the drivers side (only) carpet. They did not return the recall notice with the tear off slip verifying the recall was done stating, "Something will come from Ford to confirm it's been done". Wow, Ford are going to take the time out to contact me personally!! See, I AM special :D So all in all, that's 9 hrs labour. Somehow I don't think Ford will paying that :D -

Okay. Got 'em to deliver it home which they grumbled about. The wife took it back and had to drive it away. She phoned me saying that it was really sluggish. She phoned Birchwood Fraud and the service manager said, "Oh, yes there's a nick on a pipe to the engine, it must have split. We've got the part on order and we were going to call you tomorrow when it came in." Funny that, no one mentioned it when it was dropped off. I've now driven it and it seems like the turbo isn't kicking in properly. MAF? The clutch pedal is slightly graunchy, but this might improve. And just to add insult to injury someone has paddled oil onto the light grey carpet inside as well. We are now expected to drop it back to them again to sort out. <_< -
Okay, dropped my Gal off last night for the Flywheel recall, so they could finish it today. (Booked in last week) No courtesy cars were available. Rang at 1.30 pm only to find they hadn't even started it. We'll ring you to let you know what's happening says they. Just phoned back and they said it wasn't ready but should be tomorrow morning. I asked for a courtesy car and was told they hadn't one. I asked to speak with the service manager and they rang back offering a Fiesta which I had to go and collect! Totally diabolical service. I bet the salesmen aren't driving home in Fiestas. This is not the first problem I've had with them..it's the 3rd! There won't be a 4th!! Ist time was a service not being carried out properly which I had to check up on, and the 2nd was when the compressor went on the aircon which was replaced under warranty but took them 1 1/2 weeks. Why can't they provide the service that they are being paid for...and what bloody use is a Fiesta to me

Just received a recall to have the Dual Mass Flywheel....and clutch replaced FOC under the recall to prevent possible flywheel failure. Could this explain the Gals rep for chewing up clutches whilst towing?

The Government limit for speeding is 10% of the limit plus 2 mph ie 30 + 3 + 2= 35 mph meaning 36 and above and you are ticketable. Each force does it differently some allow even higher before prosecution. But if you do 31 mph outside a school in a 30 zone expect a ticket. Most "cameras" do not now use film. Some do not flash and also take a image from the front as well as others taking an image from the rear Being distracted from driving by children etc is a separate offence to speeding ie Careless driving (min 6 points and fine). Allowing someone else to take the rap for the ticket is called Perverting the Course of Justice and both parties can (and are!) sent to prision. Sorry to say, but if you've been distracted and doing 35 mph a get a ticket then tough. Hit a kid at 30 theres an 80% chance they'll live. At 35 mph it's an 80% chance they'll die. Is it harsh getting a ticket for doing 35? I don't think so.

It works and works well...but; it does not remove the chemical marker put in red diesel. If found with illicit fuel in your motor you risk the confiscation of it. C & E have wide ranging powers, including entry and search to non dwellings without a warrant. You have been warned!

You're in Quarters then!

Just the Ghia mods I believe... do you mean that something actually works on your Gal!!??

Even in "normal" unchipped sheep's clothes the 535D is faster than the 535i petrol!! Mind you my 130 is faster than a 2.0! (Not too sure about the V6 mind  )

My dealer reckons on 10% for time and mileage, so 4 weeks ish for time and 1000 mls for the service. I have gone for a service 3 months late with no problem tho. My warranty finishes in May, DEFINATELY no more dealer services even before then!
