but if the water was in the drivers footwell then you woulnt have a rusty rear arch trust me on this and as for the scuttle panel leak around the clips i discovered that about a 2 years ago and still no one has offered any sound advice as to how water can get in from the back end and drop down and around the rear arch com on guys
-
were on about the rear arch mate not the front footwells
-
i have exactly the same problem on my 96 1.9tdi gal the arch is rusting from the inside out any help would be great
-
right what gets on your t1ts with your galaxy well mine the water leak that took me 2 years to find in the cab the sh1t electrics half the dash lights up the other half doesn,t apart from when you go over a bump and then its got a life of its own the fact that when you open the bonnet you need size 2 hands too work under there and the fact that everything for it is so bloody exspensive rant over
-
best place is in the back panel but be warned you will have to make up spacers and when you buy your speakers make sure you get a set with the shallowist mounting depth that you can find. i,m using infinity reference 6x9s in the back and i had to put a 30mm spacer behind them and the still hit the inside of the boot lid the best place to mount them is right next to the light inspection covers as this is the place that offers the most room

think its eiteher 25 or 35 mm drop postage depends were you are but i,d say about

hi everyone glad to see i,m not the only havin a shitty time of it lol but to be honest of all the cars that i,ve had this has goto be the biggest bloody money pit that i have ever owned and trying to work on it well just open the bonnet and cry even my old 4x4 sapphire cosworth was easy to work on than this and cheaper in the 3 years that i owned it
-
well hello too you all well hoped to have a better year than last year ended that with a snapped cambelt and a
-

-
it snapped at about seventy going down the m4 took it too the garage today so will hear from them on monday if its scrap or not can,t really afford this now this time of year with xmas and all that the last bill for a service and mot cost me 408 quid all i can say is this thing is a bloody money pit :angry2:
-
bloody cam belt has snapped sodding thing and at the wrong time of year going to the garage tomorrow so fingers crossed won,t cost a fortune specially this time of year :)
-
have been using cooking oil mixed fifty fifty with diesel for months now with no change in performance at all and saving me a fortune as well to boot specially when the figures speak for themselves 3ltr oil in tescos
-
the things your pointing too are only clipped into the body when you remove these you can pour water through them and it will ingress into the footwell . so remove them both the top and bottom one fill both holes with plenty of clear silicone then put the black plastic noddys back in and that should cure it(it did with mine) as for the sealer your pointing too that is only between the wing and body so shouldn,t cause any water ingress hope this helps
-
the top pic is what i,m on about were that plastic lug goes into the body is the hole you should seal up then push it back in as this is a direct hole through the bulk head and into the cabin i should imagine theres one on the drivers side as well as for matey boys above comments about silicone the stuff i use is the proper deal used by window companys all over the country so stop talking bollocks pall
-
right you can try this for size on the outside of the galaxy where the rubber roof strips come down to the bottom of the windscreen there are a pair of plastic cover surrounds that go over the rubber and under the wiper arm these are held in place by a pair of plastic clips that are attached into the windscreen pillar if you pull these out you will find water can piss in through them so pull them out and use lots of clear silicone( dont listen to the above comment about the stuff i use it everyday in work and i seal consevatory roofs with it) anyway back to the point seal these up good and proper and refit the clips and that should cure your problem as this was where mine was leaking thriugh for ages and mine is know cured hoope this helps

http://www.freedomtrailriders.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/265.gif would not the sound quality be further improved if you fitted these inside the car? lol what i meant was they are not mounted behind the panels but fitted to the front of the panel so there
-
have fitted the 51/4" components in the front doors and 6.5" coaxials on the outside of the the rear doors and custom fitted 6x9 speakers in the boot lid it does improve the sound no end
-
cheers guys was questioningit cause i have just had a service and mot done and it,s just cost me
-
can someone tell me does a diesel have any form of cat system on the exhaust as mine has failde the mot with it cause it has a hole in it anybody got pics of the underside of a diesel gal thanks in advance :D
-
hi mate there infinity 9603i 3 way speakers fitted on a 30mm spacer if you are thinking of doing this i would have a look in halfors and try and find a shallow fit speaker ie 6x9 or a 6.5" coaxial speaker as the above are just a little too deep but they do sound good amped up
-
right i,ve had the eibach kit in my garage for 2 years know could you tell me what the metal discs in the kit are for? :D
-
well i,m using a focus rs replica alloy gearknob direct fit :D
-
i have done exactly the same as you matey have upgraded the speakers in the front doors to infinity 5 1/4" components 6.5" coaxials in the back doors and in the boot i have fitted infinity 6x9s in the boot door on 30mm spacers but wouldn,t recommend this as they still catch would have been better using a smaller not so deep speaker but the sound is great and i power all this off a kenwood mp3 head unit and an i pod through a kenwood interface and the boot speakers are powered by a sony amp under the drivers seat

right guys and gals after much lookin have finally found where the water was leaking in to the passenger footwell of the gal it wasn,t the usual places but from behind the trim under the passenger wiper arm there are to plastic clips that go into the body and the one was missing but ful of gunk which wasn,t sealed properly i stripped the carpets back and jetted water down them and low and behold it pissed in through them so some silicone later and the holes are filled so fingers crossed this was the source of the leak and it should be cured this might also explain the leaks into the drivers footwel in some cars as well would be worrth a look for you all :D
