Your engine is a ford make,,,,,and i dont think you have the fuse box in the engine bay,,,,, From what you say about the starting and running of your engine,,,I would check the coil packs and the HT leads then I would look at the fuel pump relay,,,or the fuel pump itself,,,,,,,think there is a cut off switch reset button under your pass seat Then you could look at power to the injectors I had a problem of a misfire a while back,,,,,,my boss wiggled the feed to the coil packs,,,,never misfired again,,,,,checked the cables,,all where brittle insulation,,,so i got fire proof tape and covered them all with it,,,,bloody brilliant

I had the same problem on a volvo,,,and it was ageing fluid that caused the problem

Dont know if ford and vw are wrong,,,,but with the amount of posts on this site,,,,ford and vw get a lot of things wrong,,,,, :lol: :ph34r: :o When i changed my brake switch,,,,I went to gsf and bought one,,,changed it outside there shop,,,,no reset ,, no setting the plunger,,,,,,,,I just twisted it in and all works fine :lol:

Yeah,,,I have the same problem,,,,,i found the faster you go the noisier it got,,,,,,i always thought it was the top of the doors opening slightly and letting the wind etc in,,,when travelling at speed and i noticed it only happened on the front two doors

Seen a lot of black hackneys doing it ,,,, but i thought it was to help the engine run at higher temp ,,,, to give better in cab heating,,,,,not to help the engine reach a quicker running temp then again I maybe in silly mode again :ph34r:

OK so what you mean is,,,,, the switch needs to be set,,,,not reset

You need to get a TIS disc or a Haynes ,,,,,, it tells you in there,,,,that the battery tray holds a gearbox mount in place :D One of the above may prevent little accidents, ,,,,,,,, like the one you had :D

Go to GSF or Ford or VW and get a brake switch,,,,,,better first to look at the faulty one ,,,,,,, to determine if it is a 2 pin or 4 pin plug,,,,,,,,,,,,,go home take of lower surround panel under steering wheel,,,at the foot pedals,,,,,,,,remove plug from brake switch and turn it anti clockwise or clockwise (((((Cant remember which way you turn it,,)))))and take it out,,,,,,,,fit new brake switch ,,,,,, refit the plug and panel surround,,,,,,,job done in 15 to 20 mins,,,,,,,,,,,,,NO RESET NEEDED ,,,,,,

No need to have it reset!!!!,,,,it works all by itself :D
