  1. Mine is just extra weight as well. It blows but that's about it. Might have play in a couple of weeks.
  2. Got mine today!  Thanks Mum. PS, went to the Post Office web site today and there is no mention of the new postal rates. Will call into our local branch tomorrow and see if they have a leaflet.
  3. Mum of 4, you are doing a brilliant job. I am dad of 3 (we're not worthy, we're not worthy) Please can I have sticker!!!! any design will do. I will PM you my address. I use paypal but why let them take a %. Is there another way to contribute?
  4. 1. Peter Stringfellow. If I had his money and girls, I wouldn't give a damn what other people thought. 2. Slash - ex Guns + Roses axeman. I could play the guitar 25 years ago - wish I'd kept going. 3. Tiger Woods - Would love to play 18 holes without losing a ball!
  5. Don't go to Halfords, try Ebay and save a couple of quid - I did. No more hiss and crackle! :D
  6. 8 seats, two rows of three, driver and front passenger. Or am I wrong? ;) Anyway for the record I have a 6 seater, yes some of the seats have one arm and some have two. Hadn't really thought about why until I discovered that my car has the extra heater. I have to turn the stereo up in this weather! ;)
  7. What seats are we talking about? you could say there are any number depending on what type of seat you have and what mounting places they are clipped into. I have for some time known that there are different widths of seats depending if they are meant to be fitted in a 3 or 2 wide seat arrangement (ie two row seats are wider than three row seats, Captain seats? armrests?). And that, under the carpet there are, at least two rows of seat mounting points for all combinations. So, it could be a 6, 7 or 8 seater(unless I have missed something or you don't take any seats out to make room for luggage!)
  8. Hold up a minute! lets All take two weeks off (if the schools can change the calender, and no hotels/campsites/airlines/resteraunts will bump up the prices for these 14 days) I say we start 09:03 a week friday. Anyone up for it? Gone off the plot a little bit haven't we? ;) I have driven, a Renault 5 (1.1), a couple of Golf GTI's, a BMW 525, an M3, some awfull hire cars and now my beautiful 2.3 Galaxy. They have all done the same 35 minute journey to work in the same time, (even the bus service) give or take 10 seconds - depending on traffic lights and roundabouts. So, lets not give a moments more thought to the extra time we spend at the pump. If you want to be quicker at the pump, put less fuel in! Then again, just take a deep breath and laugh at all the people queueing so they can drive on the left of a pump because they don't realise that if they knew how to drive and park, the hose would fit around/over the top of a people carrier! ;)
  9. Anyone know how much the white front wing indicators are from Ford? I want to change the orange ones on my "R" plate Ghia for the later model white ones.
  10. I'm not a fan of headlight eyebrows, but I do like the colourcoded grill. :o You have given me the inspiration, that's next on my list - chrome sucks! :(
  11. White for me!
  12. Sorry, my 15"ers were taken in part X for the new tyres on the 16"ers so have gone. The new multispoke Ford 16's look great. Seems to handle the corners better. Just need rear wheel drive now to get rid of the wheelspin! :)
  13. Thanks for the info, I thought the pivot ones would be the easiest to do as the black surround would hide any wobbly cut lines. I didn't give any thought to the black dots stickyness.
  14. Hi folks, I am thinking about getting my Galaxy MK1 widows tinted. The fixed/pivot ones I can't see a problem with, but has anyone had scratch marks on the up and down window film?
  15. I won some new 16" alloys on Ebay last night. So my set of four 15"ers and tyres are up for grabs. If you want them, PM me your email and I'll send some photos so you can make your mind up. No dents or scuffs to speak of, but the paint has started peeling off on the centre caps.
  16. I've got the horn! Fixed it in no time. Thanks again for the info.
  17. Thanks for the info. I missed out on a horn button on Ebay for less than
  18. Hi folks, I have done a bit of searching but can't find any info on how easy it is to change a horn button. I have a galaxy with an original airbagged steering wheel, the right hand button is trashed and I have an opportunity to get a new one. Can anyone shed some light on how to do it? Thanks.
  19. I am on the lookout for some bigger (than 15") alloys for my Galaxy. So will have a set of 3 spoke 15's and tyres for sale when I find the right ones. Why do you want to move from steels to the same size alloys? Is it just the look? Does anyone have any 16 inchers for sale? I have been scouring Ebay for a couple of weeks now and either need decent postage or a seller close to Hampshire/Berkshire.
  20. Whoo Hoo! got my cruise control back up and running today. :P It stopped working around the time I put my new stereo in, so I thought I had disturbed some wiring from the steering column controls. But after reading this thread and other ones, decided to whip the indicator out and, Lo and behold, a split pipe. So it was just coincidence. A quick trim with the old stanley knife and my foot can rest again! :D Thanks for the solution all.
  21. Hi, I have been having a similar problem. Sometimes the handle will open the boot, sometimes I have to use the key. This is now winding me up so I will now take a note of what I did before trying to open the boot ( front door open - engine running, engine off - key still in ignition, key in hand) and see if there is a pattern. And then take the trim off and look for a loose wire. I will let you all know what happens.
  22. Ah, I see. S'pose I'de better spend a couple of quid for the booster then. Thanks for all the info guys and gals. :( PS I beat a friend of mine with a VR6 Golf and nitrous into work today, mind you he was stuck behind traffic while I took the shortcut!
  23. Never mind about buying a new booster. Does anyone know what wire powers the OE booster and does it just need 12v? I don't fancy paying for a new one if the old one still works and just needs a power supply!
  24. My lower panel also has a screw fixing it to the top panel. It's obscured by the seat belt strap as it comes out of the top of the lower panel. The bottom of the lower panel is slid under the plastic strips along the edge of the carpet.
  25. Maglite, PM me your email address and I will send you some photos of the grommit location.
