  1. I have tried moving the stick from P to N loads of times but still no go  I can hear some sort of solenoid switch noise coming from under the gear stick, so I presume it's ok. Thank's docker
  2. Just put a new battery in the key and re-coded it........still have the same problem
  3. Thanx for the reply,I was starting to think it had something to do with the immobiliser. I wonder if the battrey in the key has something to do with it? And yes i have been told that it could be the P/N switch or start inhibitor switch as you call it, but I'm not convinced with this. Thanks
  4. I have a 2.3 Auto Zetec 2001 model and sometimes for no reason the car decides not to start. All the normal dash lights come on etc, but nothing ,the starter motor doesn't even kick in. The only thing that I have noticed is that every time this happens I can't hear the petrol pump working and the door alarm light flashes very fast. I can keep on turning the key but nothing. Then after about 1-4 min the petrol pump starts and the car starts as normal. I have read a few threads, and some people say it could possibly be the P/N switch or relay 30? I have listened under the drivers side steering wheel where this relay is supposed to be and can hear some sort of electrical fault that does sound like a relay on its way out. At the moment I'm not convinced its the P/N switch so I just wanted to know where this relay 30 is and how to get to it so I can change it. This problem is getting on my T*)s at the moment and always seems to happen when I'm in a rush  Thanks all & Kindest Regards Bobski
  5.   HELP?
  6. Hi folks, anyone point me in the right direction for Relay 30? Or has anyone got a picture or diagram of where this little sucker is please. Thanks
  7. As you can see I have a 2.3 zetec auto so this non starter issue must be to do with something else being that you have a manual. Im still having problems with the starting and have tryed the auto gear salecter button route and this does seem to cure it sometimes. BUT I have noticed aswell that the red door alarm light flashes faster when the car starts to play up! May be this issue has got something to do with the ALARM system ?? Just a thought B)
  8. I think your right guys, it's the P/N switch  I do have the Ford Galaxy TIS cd...do any of you know where I would find this switch on the cd?(i only got TIS last week so don't know how to use it at the moment.) Thanks
  9. Thank you guys for your replay's I shall try the selector button next time it happens.(at the moment it seems to be ok...sods law) The other thing you said about the break lights, I don't seem to understand how this would effect the starting? But I'm sure someone will tell me soon ;-) Thanx
  10. I have a 2.3 Auto Zetec and sometimes for no reason the car decides not to start, and the starter motor doesn't even kick in either!! All the normal dash lights come on etc, but nothing. The only thing that I have noticed is that every time this happens I cant hear the petrol pump working. I can keep on turning the key but nothing. Then after about 1-2 min the petrol pump starts and the car starts. Could this be some sort of relay thats up the spout or could it be alarm related? Well it's over to you guys......HELP ! Thanx
  11. Hello all, I have a ford Galaxy 2.3 Zetec Auto and would like to know what Fords do at the 40K service. My car is booked in for this Thursday but yesterday morning I noticed that starting from cold the car would only drive in third gear (auto) until it warmed up. Also the Engine Warning Light came on this morning to my horror but putting two and two together me thinks that the automatic transmission fluid could be low. Am I right????? all help appreciated. :D Just want to know before the service AND before Ford's give me the old YOU NEED A NEW GEARBOX scam !! :D many thanks
