Problem solved :32: After taking out the drivers door wiring loom connector and inspecting the wiring (sod of a job to put back together) and finding all was well ,I noticed a 25 amp fuse sitting in the drivers footwell................ :) This turned out to be fuse 27 (Power Supply on-board electronics/interior lights.) put this back in and put everything back together and SUCCESS!! I now like to take this opportunity to apologize to my wife ,kids ,cat and tropical fish who were all as I thought ''SUSPECTS'' in this case. :lol: I am a DONKEY!! :lol: The fuse was accidentally pulled out when trying to remove the extremely tight fuse box cover.

It does say in the owners manual that if you want to disable the central locking system you have to contact your ford dealer. Is there a way disable/enable the central locking?? I was mucking about with the drivers door lock for a while and might of disabled it all.

Hi all The battery on my 2.3 auto went up the spout this morning so went to Halfords and brought a new one

Has a 2001 2.3 auto Zetec got a Cam belt or chain? I was just wondering because my Galaxy has gone into Ford's today for it's 60,000 service and a few other thing's. Do they change the belt if it has one, and if so what is the recommended mileage to change a belt? Thanks all :lol:

Is the auto box on a 2.3 zetec a sealed unit and there for can not be toped up? Or is there a place to put transmission fluid?

I didn't realize that you could top up a zetec auto box. Where abouts in the engine bay do I find the place to top it up? Thanks

Hi ,I have a little problem with my Galaxy auto gearbox that normally happens a couple times a month. I can be driving the car and it wont change up a gear,even if you put the accelerator flat to the floor. Sometimes it doesn't want to change into third from second and also sometimes it has no gears what so ever. This problem only lasts for about five minuets then all is fine again. I was just wondering if it just needs a transmission fluid top up or something. Also has a little squeak sometimes when it changes gear. Thanks in advance for your help. Bob

But if it does come back on again I will take it to a friend of mine who has all the kit to see what fault is causing the little bugger to come on. Guess what.......started the car up to go out and the bl**dy light came back on again! Just taken the battrey lead of to give it a chance to mend it's ways and have a re-think. If it comes back on again, Im going to put the fcuk*ng hammer to it!

Well I tryed disconnecting the battery and the lights gone out and all seems to be fine. Do you know why this happens and thank you for the very quick response. Bob

Hi all, I have a little problem with my Transmission light (orange engine management light) on the dashboard, it's staying on for some reason. After driving up the M25 for about 30 miles and thinking to myself that my Galaxy was running very well I stooped of at the shops to pick up a few things. Got back into the car and started it and the transmission light has stayed on, car is still running well with no problem. Any one have any idea's as to why it's staying on? Thanks in advance. As you can see,the word problem is an understatement for me :D This has been a right pain in the butt for me for nearly six month's, only to be rectified by the installation of a couple of break light bulbs (the break light strip at the top of the rear door was not affected).
