  1. Hi all, I have been having a strange problem with my drivers side break/side light. Every time i press the break peddle my front side light comes on? I had this trouble once before and found the problem to be was a blown bulb where the break filament had some how blown and welded itself to the side light filament....what are the odds of that!! No such luck this time...i have checked the rear cluster, bulbs and found no problems. The only thing I haven't checked is the front side light bulb and wing indicator bulb. Not sure if it can be down to a faulty break light switch because when I turn my side lights on at night my break lights start flashing intermittently all the time. Any Ideas and has anyone else had this type of problem and what did you do to fix it? Regards
  2. Hi m8, just got your PM This discharging problem you have is a totally different to my intermittent starting problem I'm afraid. I still have had a few non starting times but not as many as at first, this was made better after a 450 mile run to Scotland and back and the problem went away for a while and only happens twice a month now rather then five times a day. Sorry I couldn't help
  3. BO!!OX! did'nt work, back to the same old sh!te! :42:
  4. Hi Bobski Just re read your original post and noticed you say "the engine don't turn over" how did I miss that, relay 30 wont cause that, I think I would check out ignition switch next Thanks Chris  Well after looking around this web site I had completely overlooked the door LED fault codes. If anyone is interested on how to solve this problem here goes........... When this fault starts the drivers door LED will flash very fast for one minuet, then it will give you a code to your particular fault, in my case it flash once, paused then flashed five times indicating FAULT 1.5. Now if you look on this web site at the Technical Section/FAQ's/ number 69 Door LED Codes it says........ Code 1:5 ³ Key not programmed into PATS control module ³ ³ ³ memory: ³ ³ ³ Programme Key(s) as necessary. ³ Just went outside and coded the key and all seems to be well, will have to give it a few days to see if the problem is still there. This fault code was just for my individual fault but will do the same for all other flashing LED faults. Just remember to wait for the fast flashing to stop after one minuet, then check the code it gives you here, (number 69 in my case)...... http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=7886 Hope this helps someone. Regards
  5. Well I have now changed relay 30 and relay 167 and I still have the same problem, nothing has changed!! Help!!
  6. Does anyone know what relay 167 does as this seems to make allot of noise. It's under relay 30.
  7. Do you know where abouts this sensor is? Thanks
  8. Well went out over the weekend and brought relay 30, installed it and I still have the same problem so not sure what it could be now. All I know is I changed relay 30 about 4 years ago and it was £9.80, the one I brought this weekend was £22.50!!! whats that all about lol. This Galaxy is getting on my t!ts now!!
  9. Thanks for the replys guy's. Hay Chris, this relay 30 on my 2.3, does this relay cause this problem I have then, and is it a known issue m8? Thanks
  10. Hi all, I have had this problem for a few years now. 98% of the time my Galaxy starts with no problem but every now and then it decides to just not start (normally when Im in a rush :) ). The engine does not turn over the hole car is dead, just the ignition lights come on like normal and the LED on the door flashes like mad with no code pattern and I cant hear the petrol pump. I wait 3 minuites or less then turn the ignition, the LED on the door goes to solid red, I hear the petrol pump kick in and she starts. Also I hear a click from the fuse box, could be down to a relay but just not sure. Over the last couple of week's it has started to get worse. Any Ideas Lad's and Lasses?? :)
  11. Bump....Any takers? ;)
  12. Hi all, just recently replaced my window regulator in the drivers door and in the process broke the cable that goes from the handle to the lock in the door. It snapped at the lock end. Any one got an idea how to go about replacing this small cable? Thanks ( one problem after another lol)
  13. Well after a long while waiting I finally found a complete second hand regulator unit on FleaBay. Managed to buy it for
  14. Well the car past it's MOT with flying colors today so went to three breakers yards to look for a window regulator, but had no luck. Going to order the cables later today and give it a go myself.(lets just hope it's a cable)
  15. I pass two scrapys on the way to work so will pop in this week. Got to get the Galaxy MOT on tuesday so dont want to play around with the drivers window yet just in case I have to fork out for somthing else. Will keep you updated Greg. Cheers
  16. Well I got two to choose from, are they ok?..... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170514829051&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250664611427&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
  17. Thanks Greg, looks like I will take the renew cable route in the next week or so. I just phoned at talked to a very nice man who I will be buying the cables from, I asked him if it was a fiddly job to do and he kindly sent me an email with instructions and pictures on how to change the cables. Would you like me to forward this email to you to have a look at and if so put it up with the FAQ section of the forum if you think they are suitable? If so PM me or give me your email address and I will send it to you. Thanks for your help Bob
  18. I was told that the wire has started to fray and it needs help closing. About a year ago the window started to get slower and slower closing, then there was a thud and something sounded like it broke and the window started to work normally but very fast, so I left it as it worked OK. Then about a month ago it wouldn't close and started to make a grating sound so went to a mechanic who said it was the regulator. Now I think the motor is OK but would rather change the lot. Would this be the one i need for the drivers door?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270465853926&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT Regards Bob
  19. Thank you for the reply, If I brought a new one are there many different versions of regulators or are they all box standard for each Galaxy model? Does any one know the part number I need for a 2001 Galaxy Zetec 2.3 drivers door regulator? I'm just worried if I got one from ebay it would be the wrong one. Thanks
  20. Hi guy's, where is the best place to buy a new front drivers side window regulator for my Galaxy? Thanks
  21. Thank you for the quick replies, I will give it a go. I actually hate working on window mechanism's lol.
  22. Hello All I need to take my drivers door panel off to look at my electric window which is making a bad noise when going up and down. A while ago it made a big bang and started to make a grinding noise and I have to help it up so it will close. So can anyone tell me how to take the drivers door panel off, if you have pictures it would be much appreciated. And also is this a common problem with 2001 2.3 Zetec's? To be honest it sounded like something broke but the window worked OK for a few months and now this. Regards
